any 4.6 upgrades?
ya I have read about the "revised" version on their site. Looks like it allows for some minimal tire speed variation for turns. Just had zeo first hand experience with it. I think I will go that route, save me $200 or so for some ther goodies. Thanks a lot for the input Klitch.
ok, thread hi-jack over

Yea. I haven't kept up with when the changes were made. I was refering to The body changes when they started tweaking the bottom, I like the clean look of the original.

Anyways bud, as already been stated in THIS thread, the earlier model Ford had a harder time throwing a lean code. This does NOT mean your NOT running lean. Did you ever go out to buy a proper Air/Fuel ratio meter ? It was harder (not sure why...maybe someone else could chime in on that) but now, on the newer style truck people have had lean codes, and a couple guys on this very site have had it run lean enough, during a long drive to get the exhaust hot enough to catch their spare tire on fire ! ! Guess thats how the truck "learns" to use it ay ? Different truck = different issues.
Again, argue with me all you want, buy what you will. To each his own. You want to spend $300 for a $20 part ? Go for it. Or make one of your own. Or do like Klitch and buy a cheap-o one off E-bay. It'll be like a lil kid who gets his new shoes. he THINKS he can run faster, jump higher so he wants em. In reality we all know he hasn't changed, but it make no nevermind to him and he wants em anyway. Its good, its what drives our economy. But I promise you, this is a topic that comes up about once a month on the site and gets tossed around. i think most of the other guys just don't care anymore so they don't waste their time. Use the "search" function. Go back and read ALL of my posts in this thread. I have one with a good link to a thread that was talked about for days ! Couple of the guys were evn willing to draw up a diagram or two showing you the fliter and elbow are NOT the limiting factor. Those are not what retricts your air flow.
Anyways, I really don't give a chit. Do what you want. You think its make your truck run faster and jump higher, by all means my friend buy it, sport it. It will look good. (oh, way to jump on the insults... shows your a mature, older individual with years of experience
) No worries bud, time for you to go do some homework now
Klitch: Whens this SC 5.4 goin in ? Is it going to be the newer 3 v ?
?

not even sure what that means bud
I did buy my truck, nope I don't work at the Ford plant, so I was un-able to build "my mine". Only thing I have done is lift, and some minor custom tuning. Its far from "built".
Bud, I never said anything about age, I was wondering, since you were sowilling to insult me and jump on me, what your back grund is and where your knowledge comes from.
Fuel injection is new to you, but you know this engine better then me ? Well congrats bud ! I never claimed toknow a ton on these trucks. This is my first Ford, and I work on Mercedes for a living. Just think bud, if you work at Jiffy Lube long enough mabe you can afford this :

and I don't think taking your paycheck is worth it.
I was simply trying to tell you, these CAI do not net you 14-18 horse power, and doesn't save you hundreds in MPG's. It is not a great mod for your truck unless your engine needs it. Its my opinion. Like I said, you want to, go for it. No need to be a bitch about it.
even if i made enough for a that i wouldnt waste my money on a import ford is where my loyality lays and yes my motor is very built i quess i need to update my gallery and update my sig 4.6 stroker cammed new bearings ported my head yes i did it upgraded valves piston rods main caps long tubes 92mm t-body - 40lb injecters or 42 not sure which new fuel rails and high pressure pump custom tune is coming soon i not runing just yet and this is only half my second 4.6 engine yes i know them very well i dont need to agrue with you to prove my point but i just dont like people like you the think there god's gift to engines
ive said my peace and unless you give me a reason im done aguring

How do I think I am god's gift to engine? Jbrew ? I will readily admit I joined this site because I don't know **** about these new Ford motors. I have built one old school Ford 460... a long way off from the Mod motors.
Really not sure where I offended you. You began attacking me because of my opinion and trying to insult me.
Thats your FIRST post to me. You start off being a ****. I have done plenty of homework. These newer motors DO run lean with CAI. And then you say its people like me taking away from this site ? Right...
Sounds to me, like you have a nice 4.6. Thats awesome bud ! And, its also sounds like your 4.6 warrants the CAI. Sounds like you have taken the right steps (and more) to build your engine up. Now, on a stock 4.6, with a stock truck, throwing the CAI kit will not net you any noticable gains. In fact, on the new trucks, a lot of people are getting lean codes.
K&N says that if you throw on their kit, you get 14 more pnies and your MPG will increase. That simply is not true. You will improve a little, but nothing your butt dyno would notice.

I'm just talking - in general and not really pointing any fingers.
Hey, what gives with that little video below your truck, in your post?
Is that a little piece from your childhood

Well, seems like ya got somethin against me. Wondering what it is. No problems, and not worried.
And yes, thats my happy dance! When the lady says I get some, I do that dance! You just can't not laugh when you see that... good times.

New people, new info, different opinions can always give way to debate. I think it's more that, than anything personal.
Some are passionate in there beliefs and dislike the thought that they may be incorrect in any way.
I personally hate it when that happens

But with a debate, missing data that lead to another's mis-assumption can surface by others chiming in to support ones theory or just the opposite. It's sort of F'ed up way in learning something new, but can be effective. Hell I dunno, I ain't a Doctor or a Tech - Just a dumb Engineer trying to make 300,000 miles with this truck and have fun doing it.
