I just ordered the kit, I called the folks at DCcontrol, was very pleasant and had a wealth of knowledge. Said the FK35 controller will easily handle the Lincoln 18 inch fan. He has quite a few contoller, and said the FK50 has a reostat for temp setting, but the jumper one(FK35) is fine. Now I will wait and see how long it takes. By the way You can pay with the standard methods, or Pay Pal. How completely convenient. By the way the Lincoln fan can draw up to 35 amps and spike very high, but with his soft start controller there are no issues with start up. So my total cost for my system will be $138 for the controller (includes tax) and $29 for the fan at my local junk yard. Total $167 what a steel.

I will, Shoot it has only one fan now. Some folks here have ran their trucks with no fans temporarily and had no problems. But 4300 cfm is no small amount of air. this engine should only require about 3000 cfm under normal use. For towing the 4300 cfm fan should work great.

My fan clutch went out just after i ordered my efans this week..... Go figure Im not about ot replace it with the fan system on the way so i am running right now with a fan that either 1.) doesn't work at all(i can stop it from turning if i put my hand there) or 2.) i am driving with a fan on all the time full throttle.

It sucks.

My engine in city driving stays around 204-208 F for the CHT and about 192-198 F for the ECT. If i hit a patch of red lights then it goes to the high ends of those ranges. If i drive on the highway then it never goes above 200 in either place.

Thought i might add the temp out side as this is all erelivent if i was in an ice storm. But no.... I am in SoCal (not by choice ) and it has been 60F or higher while i was driving.

Cool

HI!... On my dual 16" fan set-up, I very rarely use my 2ND fan unless I'm stuck in traffic or at the dragstrip in the pitts or staging lanes.

I found the fan at a u pull it junkyard, look for the Lincoln Contental VIII, but also look at 90s thunderbirds. I found 7 where i was..look and make sure it is a 18inch fan, and if you look on the motor by the blades you will see it is made by seimens. Corvette and mustange clubs swear by these. Read my previous post. I talket to the gentleman at DC controls. He said his controller handles the fans easily.

If you use the DCC unit for the Mark VIII fan you will not have any problems. I installed mine this weekend and it works great! Amp level gauge does not move at all when the fan kicks in. I will post pics up tommorow so you guys can see.
