I have not heard of the first set up but as far as the troyer fans i know that a lot of people run them and troyer stands behind them..... But a few controlers i belive have gone out. Do a search in the forums for it. There was a big thread about it not to long ago.

Found it!!!

Just to throw it out there.

I have been looking at fans too and i have come up with this kit... Its comparible to both and looks nice! almost 6000 cfm's.

I have read his reviews and everyone seems happy with him. And hte fans look heavy duty.

Nice! How did you get that deal?

Thanks to all for your inputs. The Perma Cool kit is all aluminum including the blades and the shroud. I am not sure what the pro and cons are between the Troyer and the all aluminum.

Having a shroud is a benefit; so is not having to push rods through your radiator to mount the fans...

IMHO, the FAL 270 kit is the best I have seen, from a mounting / shroud / functionality standpoint anyway.

Good luck - whatever you choose, you can be sure you will be glorified and chastised (all at the same time) here in the forums !!!

Yeah, I have seen the chastising on here. I read alot of the threads here but do not post much unless I have a question or something I can help with.

Do the Troyer fans use the push rods through the radiator for attachment of the fans? I looked at the instructions for the FAL 270. It shows attaching brackets to the radiator, but does not really explain how this is done. Are there some factory mount points on the radiator that the fan brackets attach to?

Thanks for the help.

Funny, I was looking at the same setup. All of the feedback seems positive. I wonder what other people on here think about it?

The brackets attach to the factory shroud mounting points, if memory serves me correctly...

The Troyer kit uses the rods through the radiator to mount the fans - I have read several postings on here about the rods causing leaks after several years... But, in Troyer's defense, there are lot's of people running their fan kit who have NOT posted here to say they have had a problem.

Personally, I like the idea of having a shroud; looking like a factory piece; not having to push anything through my radiator; etc.

Hope this helps a little...
