broke the flexplate... not sure how but it cracked in at least 2 placed wasnt much holding it on. i think the converter ballooned and caused stress on the flex plate and caused it to break.

SKRWZ: The torsion bar crossmember needs to be dropped in order for the transmission to come out.

no it dont, but DAMN its a biatch if you dont. i dropped mine with headers and torsion bar crossmember in place. let me revise this a bit, i didnt have to with my 4r70w, but that tranny seems significantly smaller.

hey joey, i dont get a day off for, uhm at least another 9 days. so your tranny will be my entertainment lol

yeah it made things so much easier dropping that cross member for the torsion bars.

Huh, w/E4OD, I just remove the Skid plate then Transfer case - Gives you access to everything. Well , with a mile long extention anyway, it's still a heavy b^tch

Cut the strings /loosen the support/ back the trans off the engine (a little) via slots in Trans support crossbar / pull the crossbar / back her the rest of the way out and get the f^ck out of the way

I don't remember much difficulties , but yea it would be easier..Never had the torsion bar CM off her yet - I would prolly end up throwing something out of wack or busting bolts if tried that one.
