Is 4.6L Superior to 5.4L

MY 5.4 HAS 2 (TWO) intake valves.. and one big exhuast valve.

HI!... Well the 5.4 is better than the 4.6 due to :
- forged steel crank
- 8 bolt flexplate (flywheel)
- block is thicker in main webbing and other critical areas.
- block can handle almost twice the H.P the 4.6 block can.
- Gets about the same MPG which means the 4.6 is a pig.
The reason the 5.4 gets piston slap and 4.6's get it too! Is the machining process. Ford does not use TQ plates when they bore and hone their blocks. The block should have heads studs and mains/main studs in and TQ'ed to spec, while boring and honing. My rebuilt 5.4 never had piston slap one bit.
The reason the 4.6 makes more H.P than the 5.4 per C.I is due to the MUSTANG gets the 4.6, not the 5.4. Ford will not exploit the 5.4 like they do the 4.6 due to the MUSTANG. If the MUSTANG only came with the 5.4, then the 4.6 would be gone by now or only be in granma's CROWN VIC like it belongs.
And as for the timing chain failures. I've heard of a ton of timing chain failures and they have all been on 4.6's not 5.4's. I had my timing chains checked on my over 200,000KMS 5.4 and they had only stretched 0.20 which is nothing. And I beat on that engine HARD.
Just remember FORD made the 4.6 1ST, then they made the better 5.4. Learned
from their mistakes I think they did!
If the 4.6 is so great then why did FORD decide to build a 5.4 for the FORD GT? DOH!!!!!!!!! That had to hurt!LOL!

The valves in these motors, and the 3v's, shouldn't even be called a valve. They are more like moving plugs and belong in lawn equipment, not car and truck motors.

point is my 5.4 breathes better then a 4.6.
HI!... Ya these mod engines have really small valves. But what do you expect from a engine that has a 3.552 cylinder bore! LOL!
I have a 1971 351-C "COBRA JET" INTERCEPTOR at home. You want to talk about valves! LOL! You can fit your fist in the intake ports!

But it's still a 5.4
