HI!... Actually YOU went there 1ST .......

P.S. I'll run my "little" non-pi 4.6 against any 5.4 out there.

P.S : Still waiting for specs...................

ok so i got a question... aside from the fact i wanna beat my brother for acting like i am rolling in $$$ because he has jack to his name. 5.4 supercharged sounds great, my question lies with the pistons to be used with that setup. he keeps saying to run the low compression pistons and get good mileage yada yada and i wanna run something like 10.5 and maybe some day put a supercharger on it. will my theory work or is that too much compression for the forced induction?

i think the racing terms should be.

line the trucks side by side and then each driver has to get out and race eachother on foot.. and whoever wins the foot race is declared the fastest truck..

I'm sure your young **** would win that one!

I'll just hide and after you guys take off, I'll jump in the ole 4.6 and mow your a$$es down and declare myself the winner!

HI!... ROYALBLUE150 : I see from your gallery and a few of your posts that you have a "98" EXTENDED CAB, 4.6L, that has a PROCHARGER on it. hmmmmmmmm doesn't look N/A too me. But I bet my non tuned N/A #'s are very close to your SC'ed #'s, plus I weigh about 1000LBS less than you, now. So c'mon post your dyno #'s (SAE) .............. Just imagine if I had a PROCHARGER.. HMMMMM.

BTW : My #'s are untuned, 8.0 compression, and custom turbo cams, pump gas. Turbo not installed yet.

Here's a link to his truck if anyone cares :

For a boosted application, 9-1 is about as high as you want to go. 8.~ would be even better.

You and I both know that a stock 98 4.6, even with a SC, is still a turd.

It doesn't matter. You'll end up having to run race gas if you boost it.

true i suppose. either way i will have to run higher quality fuels? but which is more reliable? and i kinda think higher compression is more for a 4x4 toy?

Or you can run E85, if you have it available, and still get by with 9:1 or higher and boost. I think Volvo did a concept powerplant with high compression and 14 psi boost running E85.

do you shorten the stroke to increase compression? and if so isnt shortening the stroke what gives you more torque?.. idk how it works.
