Wow...

I knew Faster's engine buildling shot was below the belt, but man how quickly things escalate.

Where's Pat, he needs to jump in here and save himself and Faster, I'm too busy covering my *** to help out Faster(him being from Texas and all), my shot at Neal was a simple spell check insult.

Agreed with Klitch about that white Flareside above, I thought I was spoiled when I got my truck with free gas, insurance, and maintainence. All my mods have come from saving lunch money, I'm too busy with school to have a job to get more. Until summer, then let the highly paid internship begin....

Followed shortly thereafter with heavy mods....

I can say it's true , I did this last year as well and my trans gradually shifter quicker , what I mean is , it didn't right away after adding the the rear end fluid and modifier - it kept getting better and better as time went on..

Well I made another calibration plate last week and everthings shifting perfectly and haven't had any shudder for awhile now. The only thig that was a b^tch about making that plate was that most the holes were different sizes

The plate in the pic - 2nd 3rd and 4th holes were drill out to .127 which made it to harsh , I had to Fab a plate with a .098 hole for 2nd - a .076 hole for 3rd and another .098 hole for 4th which were determined thru trial and error/ or drive tests.. -

Jbrew, have you tried the new plate yet, what does it shift like? I'm kinda hoping to get the shift kit, but don't want the shifts too hard during normal driving, also want tire screaming full throttle upshifts though...

The bigest improvement tho was tightening the cable behind that gas pedal - I didn't know you could this - You can , but theres no adjustment for it , I crimped a wire connecter on the cable to take the slack out and it's quite a bit more responsive ..Why the frick they didn't make an adjustmentable??

I hooked this up last week as well - it's sucking enough air now lol.

if you look at malexanders dyno in the air inatke sysytems forum under air intake- it doesn't lack guts

You have the same trans as Klitch - I have a totally different trans than you guys . I think he installed his right out of the box - didn't have to modify..

Yup, 3" schedual 40. I do have a K&N - just the filter.. You spent more but yours is better - My sh^ter pipe has joints at the bends .

Funny thing is, it ill work just as good as those overpriced tubes, yeah,
I said it, tubes. That's what they are.
That's old school right there. Kind of like hearing your Granddad saying " Hell, we didn't have parts stores in my day, we broke it, we made a new one or rigged something up."
Know what else, the uglier the better!

I love it

yeah all i did was replace the accumulators with steel, replace the appropriate springs and valves in the valve body. i did however, drill the 2 holes in my plate out one size bigger.

Hahaha - real easy to do , yeah I can't believe how overpiced intake systems are - theres nothing to them, my first thought was that they must come with a new MAF sensor or something - Nope!!

You had a Grandad like that too

Yeah, he's almost 80. Just pulled the trans out of his 85 ( I think it's an 85 ) cutlass.
Rebuilding the trans for the second time since he's owned it.
Does not believe in reman. Has three cutlasses in his yard that he uses to piece the one. The old man will not through ANYTHING away. He made a cylinder pressure differential tester out of an old sparkplug, hose, gate valves, and guages he brought home from the steel mill that they were getting rid of. He will try and make a tool before he swallows his pride and actually buys one. Funny thing is, he does not understand that sometimes it is cheaper to go reman or to just buy the damn tool.
I truly admire old timers like that.
