I have had a set back on the v10 swap. I talke dwith Mike and he said I need the GEM and the cluster to get it all right. no way around it except buying a TECII and going full custom(3000$). Problem is , donor truck has been crushed
So...now i will look for a rollover and try that route.
More soon

Daaaaaaaamn that sucks....keep searching, I'm waiting to see your results. While you're waiting for the electrical stuff, you should at least try to get the motor fitted in and such...

I am looking for a little mpg car to drive so i can start the teardown and fitting.

more info from mike: Ford built a v10 s/c lightning, but had to recess the firewall to keep handling within reason , as a replacement for previous lightning. but recessing the firewall cramped cabin room too much. As i am not so much worried about taking corners too fast, i'm ok with the front weight penalty, i can always mod the suspension.
Mike said the best thing to start with would be the hotchkis lightning suspension parts to retain handling and that they would do custom work also if the bars had to be changed rate-wise.
From ford specs:v10 is 100mm longer, that is all.

You should check out the 4x4 forums on the Ford truck boards. Some have extra weight hanging off the front in the form of a Push Bar and winch. I have an extra 100 lbs (winch) hanging off the front of mine and it suffers not from handling issues. The L replacements were reg cabs and didn't have the extra foot-and-a-half of cab sitting behind the front seats.

I'll be here all night reading all this good stuff!... So if I was to do my swap, same truck (97 ford f-140 sc 4x4)....it has the 3" body lift already that will make things easier and I was going to put a 4" suspension lift in as well. Maybe I should order one up for the 7700lb f250 light duty??? Also,I find Pro comp lifts are always on the stiff side (don't seem to ride nice) so this might work out great with a v10 swap rather than using a skyjacker lift.Plus pro comp is much cheaper!
The wiring thing still scares me....

yeah the 3" body lift will help a little on the back of the motor. but put the motor in before you do the suspension lift. also with the suspension lift you may be able to use the stock oil pan without modifying it. just pull the front diff first before you put the motor in, otherwisw the pan will hit the diff
