I'm trying to get some stuff up on ebay to make enough dough for the swap.
You go for it dude!!! I've got an 8.3L Cummins C-Series laying around my place for a rainy day! I know the feeling! I was thinking of putting it in a Dodge 3500, but I can't find one that has a blown engine or tranny. I've got all the fine details worked out about how to put it in. I think a V10 swap into an F-150 would be fairly easy, if you can get the electrical worked out!! I don't have to worry about that, because my 8.3 has no electrical components on the entire engine except the starter and alternator!

Since I'm too poor to buy a 3500, maybe I can put the 8.3 into my F-150.......

That'd be nuts and require some serious cutting The hardest part about the V-10 Swap would be the wiring. I think it'd be best to have an electrical engineer ( I know several) do the wiring....I know one who rewired my friend's boat motor just for fun. He's the type of guy who gets off to ham radios, he gets all giddy when he starts talking about his superhipower pos radio with ugly antenna.

DuDE! can you say "i need a new rearend now"? Sweet idea though. The wiring actually looks to be easier for me than finding a competent welder to modify the oil pan.

how ever long you think it will take...triple it

how much you think it will cost....double it

how many custom parts you will have to make... x 3

if you have a tight budget. do not attempt it.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about BrotherDave. I have spent too many dollars on previous projects and i understand fully what you are saying. I bet you have been there/done that also.

Dude, it's all in the perspective! Just remember, that big azzz multi-element beam antenna on his tower is like a 3-valve S/C Lightning motor with a Borla DI/DO catback and CAI kit, all tuned by Troyer. Anything that is wrapped in a 60lb steel box, runs on a 30 amp 240 volt circuit and has a 3CX1200A7 tube inside is a 150- (maybe 200-) shot off the blue bottle. Run it 'til it breaks.

Yeah, I've been speaking to the Cummins Power South people, and they claim that the engine can handle 700 hp and 1600+ ft/lbs without major modifications. All this under 3,000 rpm

If anyone finds a dodge 3500 with a blown motor, just give me a holler. If not, I might just have to cram it into "Larry". (my sister gave my truck that name. It says "lariat" on the seats )

810 HP, 1560 ft-lbs of torque.
The car itself weighs 9500 lbs, the motor alone is 6ft long and weighs 2100 lbs.
