Does the doner 4R100 come with the T-case adapter? F-150s come with a Borg Warner T-case and the SDs have a New Venture T-Case. You might have to fint the adaper from an Expi with the 4R100. You could always get the t-case from a SD and adjust the drive shafts accordingly.

You know, i thought about the 5.4 swap but if i have to go through nearly the same stuff(programming, wiring, etc) i figured i may as well get a 10.

Get ready for searching through wiring diagrams to make the V10 harness compatable with the bulkhead connectors.

Talking

Dunno guys, but my V10 in my F250's bay is literally wedged in there. I can't see it fitting in a 150 without major work. The back two plugs against the firewall are almost impossible to replace without major headaches-they're right up against the firewall back under the cowell and there's no deadspace in front either.

On the up-side I can light up my 33" 285s at will on any surface and pull my 8000lb trailer/tractor up any highway grade at 70mph no problems at all! Unloaded never drops out of OD on any highway hills to hold 75mph! It makes 400lb-ft at only 1900rpm-and I'm talking about the 2-valve heads version like mine. New 3 valvers even better. One drive and you'll be hooked on it's power.

Can't imagine what it'd feel like in a 150. My truck's curb weight is 6900lbs so it weighs about a ton more than alot of F150s!! It'd be neat to see.

The F-150 got 3 valve heads on the 5.4 in 2004. The 4.6 got them a year later.
In 2005 the Superduty got the 3 valve 5.4 and 6.8.

The 3 valve engine didn't see production for Noerth American vehicles till the 04 Model year. It started in the F-150 with the 5.4. The next year it was expanded to the SD. I am not sure when the Expi/Navi got them, I would have to look it up.

even if it is done are you running this on the street?

you may run into major problems getting it inspected...

most states frown on bigger than came with swaps if you know what i mean...

keep that in mind

update

If you put the v10 in a 1/2 ton 4x, you must do one of three things:
1.get a canton mustang v10 swap oil pan=600$
2.sfa the front=500-2500$
3. modify existing oil pan=?$
4.lift the front with a good subframe kit=1400$

OK one of four things.
No i dont think converting to 2wd is an option.

More updates as amotor becomes available

Thanks for the input BrotherDave. Lightning motor is out of my ballpark pricewise. found quite a few deals on v10s complete with trans, 5.4s/c motors are nearly 2 sometimes 3 times the money.
I'm trying to get some stuff up on ebay to make enough dough for the swap.
