Don't discount the 5.4 becasue of the ****ty luck Neal has been having. There a lot of 5.4 Tritons out there that are holding up just fine. Don't forget that Neal has an ON-OFF switch for a gas pedal.

Yeah, dont hold your thought of all 5.4's being like this... Look at the lightnings, sure some dont last, but there are some 600hp+ running daily. I would really like to know the story behind this neal! What the heck happened?

HI!... This link we explain the problems I've been having since last TUESDAY.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=255952

I suspect that my old engine builder decided to cheap out and install the old piston rings back onto the 3 pistons that had to be replaced on the last half a$$ed rebuild he did. Compression was almost 160PSI across the board but #5 cylinder only has about 90-100PSI. I suspect it has been like this since I got it back from him the last time about 8 months ago. So basically I made 354RWH.P and ran a 13.60E.T on 7 cylinders..................

The 160's was dry and the 90-100 was wet. It made about 30 psi dry....

I would be going to a different engine builder, or just do it your self.

I Just looked over it and noticed your running the same pistons and rods that are in my new engine. What did you say your compression ratio is? What ever that is, wouldnt I have the same then if i go with patriot stage II heads? Are the heads you chose any better?

Patriot heads are kind of bottom of the barrel, so to speak. Neal is running Fox Lake ported heads-one of the most common, and probably about the best, places for ported mod heads...
In short, Neals Fox Lake heads are heads and shoulders above Patriot...
Just to hold you over till Neal gets back to you, Im sure youll get a much better response from him
