That my friend is probably one of the best answers that you will EVER get on this site. You want more HP & TQ for your truck then that is the place and man you need to talk to.

Look, the facts are that the 1997 4.6L motor delivered 220 HP at the flywheel. Not at the rear wheels. Yes, the current Ford sites all state 231 HP because we are in the year 2004 and that is what the motors are now putting out because of changes to them. The fact still remains that you have no visible proof that you have or have not gained that much HP & TQ on your truck. I can not speak for SSCULLY but the other three of us (Neal, JMC & I) have been to the dragstrip and to the chassis dyno and have proof of what we make with our trucks. And from all of the experience that is collected on this site, there is no way that you have created that much HP & TQ from those few mods. Bottom line, you beat me on the street when I am at dragstrip trim then you are going faster than 17.2 seconds in the quarter mile. You beat Neal which I doubt will ever happen, you will be going less than 14.5 seconds in the quarter mile. Get to the dragstrip, pay the money and get time slips or go to a dyno and get the rear wheel HP & TQ plots and post. It is not that hard since you seem to be at the track all the time anyhow, spend an extra $10 and prove yourself. That is all we are saying, it is not hard to understand. We have seen some wierd stuff before and providing the proof is in the pudding, we may still believe.

only been to the tracks once most of my racing is done against friends cars on streets near outskirts of town where police dont patrol. but if it will make up happy i'll go this friday to run what ya brung night and get a time slip for you. i was doing some online checking from various sites to find out stock what my truck runs and a 16.8 1/4 mile with the 3.55 rear end is what i saw from 3 sources. and the celica GT runs a 16.02 and the sunfire GT i beat ran a 15.5 at the track he showed me the time slip before he had his intake installed so i'm not sure what my truck runs but it is around a 15 if that makes u happy

Oh Yeah, I had Cobra emblems put on my truck and gained 20RWHP!!! I had it dynoed before and after the emblem mod but didn't get the printouts. I had my uncle who's been a mechanic for a 99 1/2 years put the emblems on for me, he knew exactly how to mount them so that I would gain the most H.P., but I watched real carefully so now I know how to do it myself next time!!!!

 

what is the configuration on your truck- -my mods are below- i went from a 16.7 with a diablo chip-1/4 tank of gas to a 16.3 with a superchips 9100 tuner- 80 degrees, full tank of gas- supercab 4x4 3.55 5.4
i went against a quad cab hemi- 3.92 gears - he had intake and exhaust 16.3 he ran and you beat one? right!

I beat a Hemi truck, He had the Hemi emblems on his fenders but they were no match for my Cobra emblems!!! Oh by the way, I do have a few more mods I didn't mention.

Sorry about hijacking your post. Your question was answered a while back when Neal answered Mike Troyer. A word of warning about cheap pullies. If you remove the balancer and replace it with a solid pulley it will not act as a harmonic balancer and could allow your crank to destroy itself. Get a brand name that is manufactured with a a balancer as part of it or one that bolts over the existing balancer. Summit has good prices as well as Jegs. Personally I stay from e-bay.

HI!... JMC, IZZY EDDY, SCULLY : I know I've been dragracing longer than this kid has been alive and I have *NEVER* heard of a dragstrip that charges you for a time slip run. Have you guys? Only in AMERICA I guess. Was the name of the track called "YOU GOT RIPPED OFF RACEWAY" ?

We were discussing this thread over at the local hangout the other night. Even all the ricer kids were calling B.S on the 55RWH.P gain with his very limited and some useless mods (TB SPACER). When he grows up and gets more experience and looks back at this time, he will pull foot out of mouth.

 

Got me, I've never seen that either, but I don't live near that state, so I can't say for sure. All I have been to include the slip with the run. Maybe Chicago is far enough North that they don't do tht cheap crap runs. Then again, $10.00 for all night is kind of cheap....( I think that was what the post was, now I just see : This person is on your Ignore List. )

u know it lol i havent had a traffic violation yet been pulled over twice once for driving with just a permit but long story on that it was my bro who got bitched at. then a 2nd time cop was harrassing me then when he was done he told me well the reason i pulled you over cause ur license plate light was out. but other then that havent had any traffic violations. =P lol raced with some state troopers though. those damn trucks they got are bad ***. but i knew the guy and he wanted to see if he could beat my truck with the ones they have.
