HI!... I'm soory to tell you but there is NO WAY in hell you gained 55H.P (FLYWHEEL) with those 3 mods. And on a 4.6 at that. Do you have a "P.I" 4.6 or a NON "P.I" 4.6? If you have a NON "P.I" 4.6 then you only have 220 FLYWHEEL H.P stock. With a AUTO (4R70-W) you will make about 155 RWH.P. If you have the "P.I" 4.6 then you will make about 166 RWH.P stock. The "P.I" 5.4's (260H.P) FLYWHEEL will make about 195 RWH.P stock on average. So your trying to tell me those 3 mods AIR FIPK, POWER PULLEYS, and useless TB SPACER gave you 55 RWH.P??????? That would mean you made 210 RWH.P on the dyno if you have the NON "P.I" 4.6 or 221 RWH.P if you have a "P.I" 4.6. This I highly doubt! I think the dyno you were on was screwed up. Did you make your dyno runs in 3RD gear? Or if you have a 5-SPEED, in 4TH gear? It has been proven here time and time again that the air fipk's give an average of about 10H.P (flywheel) and the two piece under drive pulley sets give about 7-10H.P (flywheel). And the TB SPACER? Well it's a total SCAM. Been there done that went 2-3 tenths slower in the 1/4 because of it and got worst MPG because of it. Oh and there's that VERY annoying *WHISTLING* sound that comes from it at part throttle tip in's. Trust me I know what it takes to make power with these trucks in N/A trim. I've got one of the most modified N/A 5.4's on this board and there is NO WAY IN HELL you got 55 RWH.P with those 3 mods. Are you sure that's all you had done to the truck from stock? Or are you leaving other mods out?

It may seem odd, but I plan on dropping my next truck, which will be a FX4 F-150 Reg Cab All Blacked out with some other goodies. Up here in WI I want to be able to drive my truck in the snow... forgot to mention that the FX4 gets the black interior too!

Nobody said 4x4's are for lifting and 2wd's are for lowering, afterall there are lifts out for 2wd's and lowering kits for 4x4's.

sorry dude didnt think u'd take it personal...... and the whistling noise that comes out of the intake is not a cause of the throttle body space its because u take the muffler off the IAC Sensor the opening and closing of that valve creates that noise.....

Cool

HI!... I didn't take it personal at all. It's just that your claims are not close to being real. And the *WHISTLING* sound DOES come from certain TB SPACERS. It's caused by the HELIX spiral cut in the spacer. AKA "POWERAID SPACER" I've been building race engines from everything from motocross bikes, go carts, snowmobles and too many to list FORD engines. So *I* do know what I'M talking about. By the way that spec sheet you posted isn't even close to being acurate. That same thread was brought up before and most of the info specs are wrong.

The "97" - "2000" 4.6's in the F-150 trucks were rated at 220H.P (FLYWHEEL) NON "P.I".

The "01" - current 4.6's in the F-150 trucks were rated at 231H.P (FLYWHEEL) with "P.I" heads.

All 4.6 2 valve engines have 9.0:1 compression. Not 9.3:1. The 5.4 and 4.6 use the same piston.

The best BANG FOR THE BUCK mods for these trucks are the SUPERCHIP, ELECTRIC FANS, POWER PULLEYS, and FIPK.

Those mods above will get you about 50-55H.P at the flywheel but not at the rear wheels.

i went to ford.com and got same specs 235HP(231HP on ford.com)..... my dads been a ford mechanic for 19 years and i've got a friend of family who's been drag racing for 15 years so i know prolly more then u do about engines no offence. and i asked my dad what makes the noise yeh there is some noise but the edges on the TB's are rounded over to prevent noise but its more so the IAC then anything else if u have ever looked at it u will see why. its kinda funy though cause mine sounds like a turbo so i mess with ricers and ***** when i blow past em and they stick their heads out the windows lookin like wtf!!!!. but tie IAC is what makes the hissing noise not the TB.

Cool

HI!... Well for someone that's only 19 years old, you think you know alot. I have MANY years on you and tons more experience than you. Trust me when I say your in error. Check out my gallery. The link is in my lower SIG. The 4.6's are 220H.P and 231H.P. That's final. I was also a mechanic at a FORD dealer. Having a friend that drag races and ACTUALLY doing it for yourself is two different things. I race my F-150 as well as a 713H.P 408 powered PRO STREET RANGER I built myself from scratch. The mods you have mentioned and the false specs posted on the TRITON engines have been discussed here over and over again. Do a search you will see the error of your ways.

As for where I get my parts from....... Give MIKE TROYER a call at PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS. 1 540 862-9515. Tell him I sent you. He will also set you straight on *ACTUAL* H.P gains with mods for our trucks. I've had my truck on the dyno many times and I know what mods will give you what.

I went to your trucks website. Looks good I like the colour. I can see from the old style aluminum MAF that you have a NON "P.I' 4.6. So your rated at 220H.P at the flywheel stock.

Where does Ford give the spec for rear wheel Hp and Torque? Ford doesn't rate the rear wheels becasue there are so many different drive train combinations that they would have to list them all. It is a lot easier to list one and that being at the crank. So if you added those mods and got 55 hp 60 lbs/ft of torque did you pull your engine and test it on an engine dyno? look at my mods and I dynoed 200 hp and 283 lbs/ft at the rear wheels. You have to squirt nitrous not breath it.

4.6lpwnage,

Lets take this one issue at a time.

1- I don't care how old your or who you are and all that other BS.

2- What kind of dyno did you get your vehicle tested on? Was it a chassis Dyno or was it an engine Dyno?

3- If you do not know what the difference is; a chassis dyno measures rear wheel power and an engine dyno measures engine power at the crankshaft.

4- I do not believe that with those 3 mods you gained so much power.

5- Where did you get the Ford specs for power?

respectfully

i posted links ford.com is where i got performance specs u can check for yourself. and the place i had it done did the chasis and fuel to air combustion ratio to measure HP and torque. but the truck was orginally my dads and he worked for ford so he programed the PCM once i got my mods put on so that it uses the mods *** efficiently as possible. and yes i race my truck all the time at the tracks.
