almost 300K

I see it on the horizon real soon
296,983 as of this morning.
Still the original 5.4, no overhaul yet, no nuttin'
Original tranny, actually everything untouched but the shocks, tires, brakes
(9 sets), and maybe a couple other odd small things that so cheap I don't recall may have been done. Change the oil every 2500-3000, car washes 3x a week.
Needs - upper and lower ball joints on both sides, and that I need to do along w/ the req. alignment .
A minor leak ,,,, maybe a seal going but non-issue at this point
As much as it rides like a truck...lol....the dang thing has been so good to me it's been unreal. I bitch about the mileage - 9-10 in town but still 16-17 on hwy , but it sure owes me nothing. Even the body is in pretty dang good shape. A rust hole on the rear bumber and some lower rust on the door.

Who is in the 100,000 mile club?

I have two 99's
Both 4.6L, ext cab, XLT's
one maroon, one black
first has 139K, second has 142K

picked up the second one for a bargain when it needed front end body work - that's fixed and looking good.

first one has a ticking noise coming from the passerger side of the engine that reminds me of a lifter problem i had back in the '80s. Can't get rid of it and even had one of the top shops in the area work on it ( extremely high BBB ratings and awards ).

Second one runs like a charm but just had the driver power window fail.
Trouble shooting it now - haven't determined switch or motor.

my 99 4.6 is in the 173k range. had it for bout a month, runs great. has the usual serpentine belt squeal when ya give it wot throttle and it shifts. shifts right at 4700. electric 4x4 works. needs some fluid changes. has only pulled the p0401 code once. cleaned it and have not gotten any other codes. hoping to keep this truck for a long long time. i forgot, the driver side lock will unlock but not lock. not sure if its the motor, actuator or wat. guess ill have to pull the panel off and find out. and the damn odometer keeps fading on and off, but so far itll stay off for a few days and come on for like a minute then go back off

New to the site, 156K and change. Faint ticking sound from the passenger bank which I assume is lifters/valves from my 350sbc days. Sounds like a diesel at start when she's cold. Why? Volant CAI and single glasspack behind the cat. Otherwise stock ORP 99 supercab 4x4. Oh 5.4L

I knew this would happen, Check your truck manual,

There is a reason your hearing that ticking sound.

You have sucked up a Jap truck.

It is trying to get out.......

My '97 just hit 256K, (4.6) and it seems just fine. I pull a camper, so this winter I may just go ahead and rebuild this one.

Just bought my 2004 f-150 a few years back from a local landscape company. The truck was a supervisors truck, so all highway miles. right now the odo reads 341,xxx mi and motor and tranny is original and the body is in great condition. At the price i got it for i couldn't refuse. Only thing that kills me is the window regulators keep going out and i had to change spark plugs recently.

2001 Super crew

My 2001 Super crew (5.4) is fixing to turn over at 223,000 miles. I purchased the truck at 111,000, so far have had the trans re-built, just recently upper and lower ball joints, front rotors, and best of all going to an even flow dual pipes, sweet! And several tune ups.
