Who is in the 100,000 mile club?
just got rid of my 2000 xlt v6 std. it had 218476 with no major problems up till now. Mech. said it had a dead lifter could have gotton it fixed but I got tired of shifting knees arent what they use to be. SO i bought another f150 which makes my 6th overall ford all went over 150000 before I got a new one.
Check!
Just made it to the club...
They weren't 100% trouble-free though. So far I replaced:
3 hubs (1 replacement came bad from the factory)
2 alternators (again, 1 replacement came bad)
Rear differential gear-set
1 U-joint
front ball-joints
The rest was pretty much wear-and-tear... with maintenance at recommended intervals.
The dealer paid for the bad factory parts so it was actually not as bad as it sounds...
All in all very happy w. the truck so far, running strong at 100,100 miles
Zoltan H.
PS: I drive the truck daily for work, often off-road, so they weren't the easiest miles...
2003 F150 5.4L SCrew KR 4x4

My 2004 F-150 has 156,000 miles on it (aprox 240,000km) and still running good although i just changed both VCT Phasers do to the truck sounding like a diesel. other then that this is a great truck that i am very pleased with.
100,000 mile club
My 1997 F150 4X4 will turn 156,000. Uses a little oil but all in all it has been the BEST pickup I've owned!!! Always starts, runs smooth, healthy drivetrain but my body is getting rough. This first part, outside of regular maintenance, I threw into this was a month ago : altenator and brake calipers.
New to the board here.
I just got a 97 F-150 S-cab XLT 4X4 with 4.6 to replace my "behemoth".
The 97 has 78K on it now, so I'll be in the club with that one in a couple of years.....
The old girl is a 91 F-250 S-cab XLT Lariat 4X4 with a 7.5L.
The 91 had 113,000 when I bought it in 99. The previous owner gave me all his maintenance records, and he never had any engine repairs other than routine maintenance. I've only done 2 waterpumps, 2 alternators, and a couple of sensors on the engine.
The trans was rebuilt before I got is and it gave up on me at about 160K while I was in Florida towing my camper. I was able to limp it home to PA with the camper and had it rebuilt. now close to 90K on the rebuild going strong...
The current mileage is 253,000.
Only uses a quart between oil changes once in a while.
The rest of the truck is pretty much a battered rusted P.O.S. now but it still runs great and has never stuck me anywhere.
If gas wasn't $3 and more a gallon, and I could do body work, I'd probably fix the old girl up and keep her....
I'd really like to find her a good home...
I really like the new girl, but a 4.6 ain't no 7.5!
But it's really nice to only have to gas up once a week in stead of twice and get away for less than $100....
