PO102 hep hep me!
Yup I searched and found 3 threads, I think I'm on the right track, but.....
2003 4.2 auto trans.
Had the codes read (PO102), cleaned the maf reset the computer and the light came back on in about 10 miles???
Got home and cleaned the living peasnockers out of the maf a second time (maf cleaner of course) and the connector. Air filter was filthy (K&N) so I cleaned that too. Checked the wires with my eyes and no scuffs or burns, so I'm going to run it tomorrow and see what happens.
I'm a cheap bastage so I don't want to start throwing parts just yet. So am I looking at a new MAF? Or there some other things to look into first?

P0102:
•The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
•The MAF may be dirty or otherwise contaminated (Note: if you use a reusable oiled air filter, be careful not to apply too much oil or that can contaminate the MAF).
•The MAF sensor may be faulty
•The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare)
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:
•Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
•Inspect for any air leaks near the MAF sensor.
•Take the MAF out and clean it using a spray cleaner such as brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Be gentle with the sensor.
•Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information)
•Replace the MAF sensor.
Worst case, you buy a new MAF. Maybe junkyard it? $70 for a Dorman model from RockAuto.

Thanks guys. Dang site didn't post my thread in new threads right away and I was on a time limit.
Checked everything I could and it pointed to a bad maf so that's the way I went. All smooth now so that was the culprit. I can't believe it only lasted 277 thousand miles, I guess they don't make them like they used to.........that's a good thing!

Hey George when I saw that you had posted in my thread I was going to say welcome back because I haven't seen you post much lately..........Then I saw you were beating me like a rented mule about my K & N and I'm deeply hurt!
Just kidding, the K & N works alright for me and I don't over oil it so that wasn't the issue. At 277,000 I guess some parts might be prone to wear out.
