The 3.5 EB is technically not a first year engine - it's been in the Taurus SHO.

Your other option is a high end truck with a 6.2.

If you would have been happy with a 5.4 you will be happy with a 5.0.

First year in its platform makes it a first year engine...thats what people mean when they refer to it in the trucks. Lets not get technically or others will gripe.

But I love my Ecoboost so far, havnt even got it broken in yet, but its one of the nicest vehicles I have ever been in or driven. Long gone are the days of a rough truck ride, thing rides better then most cars I have owned and even handles better then some in the turns.

And the power to really scoot!

Certainly interesting reports. One of the fellows I used to do motorcycle test riding with was contracted by Ford to conduct the NVH testing and he had nothing but great reports on the Ecoboost.

I've got a 2006 F-150 that's due for replacement and I am so tempted. But, I confess, I'm looking at other options as I just don't tow anymore and am not using the pickup like I used to. But each time I think about giving up the truck I know the moment I do I'll regret it.

I'm thrilled to see what Ford is doing. I've owned many Ford trucks over the years and this current crop are really quality products.

Keep those reports coming on the Ecoboost!

this is the best riding truck that i have ever owned. it tops a yukon denali that we had and just went off lease.

i still cant get the sync phone function to work. may be operator error. yesterday i found that i can get weather radar on the nav display. i can get that on my phone but on the bigger nav screen with the overlay on the route is good.

it looks like between 60 and 65, 22 mpg is easily achieved. bump that to 75 to 80 and it drops to 17.5. looks like the mpg is consistenly 3 to 4 mpg than than the 5.4 i had owned. 500 miles from the tank can be had as opposed to the 430 that the old truck got.

I traded the wife's SUV for this truck. She now drives my old Charger. I feel like I'm slummin' in the Charger now. The truck's acceleration is on par with the Charger (granted it wasn't a Hemi) and handling on the truck is great. I wouldn't trade it for anything else on the market right now.

Courtney--I decided to buy my Charger after having to get rid of my last truck. You'd be amazed how often you really need a truck, especially if you own a house. We were constantly borrowing the father-in-law's trailer because the stuff we needed to move wouldn't fit in the back of the wife's SUV. This truck gets a little less mpg than the Charger, and a lot better than the Explorer we traded, so in the end our cars average better mileage. The wife is happier with the improved gas mileage (but she hates the car) and I don't have to pay as much as I thought I would for gas.

Courtney, if you don't tow any more, you would probably be VERY happy with a 5.0, and maybe even with a 3.7!

Last tank I got 21mpg, but have to drive it at less then 65mph.. I have almost 3000 miles on it now, it is loosening up now..

Have painted fiberglas bed cover and ceramic tint, I think this helps mileage, plus engine loosening up..

I picked up my Ecoboost 4x4 Saturday with 142 miles on it and got 18.3 mpg on my 100 mile trip home. I was varying my speed from 55-75 every 5-10 miles.

My truck has the 3.73 rear end

What I am wondering about is how many years Ford will keep this motor?? Also, what will the trade in value be a few years down the road?? Ford pushed Hybrid Escapes really hard and now the trade in is terrible and no dealers want them used on their lots. Are they going to snub the EcoBoost too???

They are definetly not going to snub this, there has to be alot more people buying this truck with this engine equipped then there were with the hybrid escapes.

Yeah Ford put alot into the development of this engine, this is laying the foundation for the future, the only way these will be snubbed is if they start blowing engine left and right....what am I saying, I cant believe I would say such a thing, God forbid that happen!

But seriously these are the future, not that crappy hybrid stuff where you need a 5000$ every couple years or whatever crap that is.

Speaking of hybrids, I was behind a Honda Insight today and I must say I got a little close to him at the stop light. Thought if I would rev the truck, maybe the turbos would suck the car up and spit it out the exhaust, nothing happened like that, just got a close up look at the Ford emblem on the grille!

40% of the F150 sales last month were ECB..

This is the future for Ford, IMHO, there is only one engine that should be in the F150...ECO..

All the vehicles will have the ECO...

With the technology and the performance, I don't see why all vehicles in the future wouldn't have a Eco version. Especially with the new Eco engines Ford will be coming out with in the near future. All the other manufacturers will be jumping on....I am sure.

I love my 3.5Eco in my SuperCrew FX4

I am glad to hear everyones positive comments on the EB. I am still deciding between the EB and the 5.0L. But it is sooo hard to find a 5.0L equipped how i want it. There are dozens of EB out there like i want.
