Ecoboost Owners Reports
Picked up my EB on the 11th. 4x4 3.73 gears, 6.5' bed and Lt tires from Ford. I now have over 400 miles on it and it runs great. Took my son to a baseball game about 1 hour north of here on the 13th. Round trip MPG's 19.2. I'm very happy! I'm thinking I should get in the low 20's on a long trip.
I now have a 2" level kit and 33" Toyo Mt's. MPG's are not as good but still getting 16 driving 23 (Hwy) miles to work and 5 (city) miles. Not bad at all.
I have to agree with jimmyb11eb. Its all in the foot! Oh and 70 MPH seems to be the sweet spot.

I was working to average 20 mpg by the computer. I now have 1k on the odo and I'm hitting 21 by the computer rather easily. My hand calculated is typically a little lower, but has always been within .5 mpg. This is rural roads with about 6 miles of city driving each day.
Specifics: SCREW 2X4 with 3.5l and 3.15 rear.

i got a screw, lariat, off road package, ecoboost. i have 700 miles on mine and get 16 to 16.5 mpg where i got 14 on my 05 5.4 screw. not enough to justify a new ride purchase but the truck is so much nicer. the ride is great. interior room and comfort also great. i find that the acceleration and how well the truck rides has me driving faster than the old one. havent had it on the highway yet so all the mpg i see is local, but a fair comparison to my old truck.
I just picked up my SC FX4 Ecoboost with 3.73 rear last Wednesday. I am loving this thing so far. Quick question for Eco owners...have you looked at your Tranny Temp on the gauge mode? I only have 230 miles...but I have looked at the Tranny temp on several short trips, and I have been running over 190 degrees. This seems to high to me.... any input?

I agree does seem higher than I am used to, but I think ~190's might be the operating range that Ford designed for this tranny (or the cooling system i should say). As even if it is cold and taking it easy, the tranny temp will warm up to that range as i believe It is tied into the cooling system to help bring it up to operating temp quicker.
On my '05 the tranny would run 170-185 and that was with a lift and 35" tires. When towing my boat it would get up to 205-215.
Not sure what this '11 tranny temp will be running when towing a boat in the 115F Arizona weather..
I'm sure it won't be good.
Thanks bushtree! That puts my mind at ease. My 05 with 35s would run around 160 and then around 180-190 when pulling my boat. So the 190's unloaded seemed high to me. But, thanks to you, now I know that it is normal. I know a little about the heat, I am in South Carolina and our heat index the past week has been about 105. Thanks again!
Yep. I sure have.. Now I'm in the Arizona heat (today was 103F), but my tranny temp gauge is reading 197-205F pretty regularly.

Our truck is just over 3000 miles now. My wifes average speed per tank of fuel is 30-35(hwy city mix) and she is averaging 18.8 It hasnt done a straight highway trip since it had 400 miles on it.
