It's in the Super Duty forum. Not sure if it applies to the 150's or not, I'd think it would.

well there are some things that need to be said. I've driven my friend's lifted '05 5.4L and yes its has power, but the difference people are saying on here is too overrated. The V6 was designed as a simple, economic grocery getter. im glad I have a V6, because im sure i probably would have killed myself by now if I had the disposable power of a Triton.

and V6s can sound nice if you do it right. to date, ive only heard TWO V6 trucks that I love and have absolutely no ricer pop to them

I gotta say, though I'm not a fan of the super crew (unless it has the 6.5 bed), the leg room in these new trucks is insane. So much room back there.

The exact truck I'm driving now is a 2010 XLT 5.4 4x4 Screw with a 5 foot bed. I've definitely pushed it to it's limits. But hey, it's a rental and I want to see what it's capable of.

I might end up selling my truck as I leave for tour with a band in a couple weeks and am gone until September. I don't want to just let me truck sit. I might sell it as I don't owe anything on it and save up a few thousand for a new one. I would love a reg cab short bed with the 5.4. Too bad they don't offer that.

Good luck on that man. I am having some of the same feelings about my V6 that you are. Ive had mine up for sale for 2 months now and not one bite. I am considerably below KBB but dont really want to give it away either. May look into trading it for a new V8 truck. I just know I wont be able to buy it anywhere near as cheap as I did this one.

Damn, I'm glad I dont own a NBS truck. Sounds like Ford screwed up trying to add some technology to the old and simple 4.2L

nah new motors are CRAP take teh spark plug blow out. you will never have that happen on a 4.9/5.0/5.8/7.5 EVER.

can you imgane the power they could make out of those motors with todays tech. think of a 460. with Direct injection and COP with a nice tuner and some huge injectors that thing would SCREAM.

donno i just think ford should have stuck with the old school motors. so many 4.9 I6's are still running strong today.

and they brought back the 5.0 and 429 and they make some MAD power.

I think if they remade those old engines with newer tech like they did with the 5.0 it would be killer. They really did an amazing job on the new 5.0.
