If you want to be a boy racer, get a Mustang. If you want to haul or carry stuff, get a truck.
One- I know its not a drag racer
Two- I was just curious to see if it could do it or not
Three- I use it to haul my dirt bike from place to place
Four- im not the kind of ignorant kid that goes around and does burnouts in the neighborhood and races on the street. Is it wrong that I was curious if my truck could do a burnout after seeing numerous burnouts in trucks before?

Sure, let me pull $20K out of my butt. Those of us with V6s didnt go shopping with the mentality "oh I want to race, lets find a V6 F150!!!" I'm pretty sure ALL of us (except glc) got these as our first vehicles. And they do that just fine

My truck was free, it is my first vehicle. I love it to death, yes the V8 is powerful but mine does what it does fine (including spinning in 1st and even 2nd when wet out).

I had a 01 ext cab xlt v6 5speed and it was a damn good truck! I didnt have any compliants on the performance of it of course what helped it out was the 5 speed. I loved that truck but wanted to move up to a supercrew and got my 03 with the 5.4. Main thing i didnt like about the V6 was the gas mileage was the same as the V8 and that was the reason i got the 6 was for better fuel mileage.

Here was the 01

And traded it in for

But i think i will stick with my trusty 5.4 ive put 38000 miles on it in a year and a half and not one problem yet.

I would absolutely love to see a picture of this.....

The I6 is too long to fit under the hood and would have needed the firewall cut up in order to fit.

Have you not seen Cummin swaps on Rangers? those blocks are much beefier than the 4.9L

and KingRachCoy, that was a beautiful V6. I love the color, but I must agree- my next truck will be a 4-door V8.

what if they offer that 350ish hp twin turbo ecoboost V6? it would be a lot easier to upgrade to a bigger turbo or whatever. you could probably bust out a bit of power with those when modified. we will have to see if anybody does mods to an SHO

I have an '05 NBS F150 4.2 with 3.55LS & 5 speed manual. Two weeks ago I pulled my 25' boat, weighs 4,300 lbs dry, for over 200 miles. Truck never strained at all, except I had to go to fourth gear up one long hill in New Hampshire. I'm pretty happy with the setup. But I bought it as a work truck, not for show or racing.

Not too happy about playing with turbo systems on a DD, especially when Ford is somewhat new to the market
