yeah. a guy at work has an 04 or 05 FX4(has the rectangle fogs). 5.4L reg cab with a 6.5ft flareside bed. ill try to take a pic of it. but yeah i have never seen a 2wd one. i got my V6 because i wanted a manual 2wd and they dont offer the 8s with a manual. otherwise i would probably have a 4.6 or 5.4 right now. i can smoke the 2v 4.6 in an ext cab 4x4 easy, havent got to try against a 5.4 or the 3v 4.6L tho.

jeez, at 70mph your rpms will be at like 3000, but if you put stock rubber back on it will be like 3500 lol

you can run those motors with no oil and they still keep on truckin
i had a 78 f150 with a 351W in it and my front main seal went while on the highway. lost all the oil, smoke coming in the cab. pulled in at the house i was buying a car from which was maybe 3 miles later. checked the dipstick..DRY! put 4 quarts of oil in it, and it started right up and ran fine.

im on my 2nd 4.2L truck. 04 heritage with 3.08s and now my 08 with 3.55s. both manuals. both had/have power and are reliable.

my 04 heritage was a 3.08 rear with reg cab shortbed 2wd 5 spd. it was fine and even with 490Lbs in the back for snow, it was fine. sure you could feel the weight but it would still get up and go. it was supposedly 3897Lbs. my 08 is supposedly 4364Lbs. it is same setup except its a shortbed and a 3.55LS rear. only have 150Lbs in the back for snow and it has plenty of power.

My '04 Heritage is a single cab short bed with manual tranny, 3.55 LS and VMP tune.

No complaints about lack of power. It certainly isn't a speed demon like my modified 485 hp Mustang, but it holds its own in traffic. Its my daily driver and I enjoy it as such. I plan to keep it as my daily driver for a long time to come.

youve never had ice build up on your floor have you? kinda hard to rest your heel while pressing the gas with a chunk of ice under your foot. sometimes your foot slips and it comes off the gas pedal. i have a DEEP floormat so if any ice builds up, which it does, it never touches my foot. plus when it gets dirty, just pull it out and shake it or spray it.

they need to bring back the manual trans as an option in more than just the v6, ie the lightning would have been sick with a stick
