I have the Airaid and and an e-fan, and used to run a superchip.

Here's my experience:

Airaid made a noticeable (but not huge) improvement above 3,000 rpm. Much more intake noise when on the throttle (truck sounds faster). No improvement in power below 2,800 - 3,000 rpm. No increase in noise when you are light on the throttle. Not sure if the K&N filter does a good enough job filtering in dusty driving (I've seen some dust beyond the filter). Install was pretty easy, but the instructions sucked (I've had mine a long time, hopefully they improved those). If there was an mpg gain, it was hard to tell. Paid about $200 about 7 years ago.

E-fan: Could not feel any power improvement on my truck (which has an automatic tranny), but there must be some as the stock fan is one heavy ****. Truck is quieter when the fan is not running, noisier when the fan is on. Cost me about $180 for a Flex-A-Lite Black Magic Universal kit. Install was a bit of a PITA, but have had no problems in 7 years+-. Seemed to help mpg at least 0.5 miles per gallon.

Superchip: Really helped low end and mid-range performance on my truck, but peak hp did not seem to go up much if any (stock, my truck runs OK at full throttle but is not much for low end power). Improved shifting under throttle. Truck would hold OD or third much longer on hills than without the chip. Got better mileage, but savings completely offset by extra cost of premium fuel. Stopped using it a year or so ago when for the 2nd time, the chip wiggled loose and the truck died on the freeway and would not restart until I pulled the chip and disconnected the battery. Can't remember what I paid, but it was 7+ years ago.

Lol Im sure that it did whats funnier about all this is I had a customer who bought the same truck as me like 2 weeks after I had gotten mine same motor and trim package and dumped crazy money into it one day he pulled up and was like dude come check out my truck so I'm like how much $ you have in it he was spraying and had close to 4k in it and i looked at him and said why would you do that and how fast is it now he said I can keep up with the stock v8's NOW I said so you could have bought the V8 with that 4k you wasted on the V6 he said yea but I wanted to build it up IMO if you want to make something faster its beter to start with a beter platform IE: V8

I have $1000 in upgrades, and now get an average of 19 mpg and can hit something like a 16.3 1/4 (I know slow but not bad for a 4200 pound V6 truck)

Xcal 2
Efans
MAC CAI
Gibson headers

It may be slow but in the end there is only $16,800 in it, including the truck brand new.

He must have been a dumb ***, because with 4k you can hit mid-low 13's on the bottle. Which is way faster than a stock V8. For $3600 you can get Heads/cam/low end from SSM and hit 14's.

I'm not trying to make it faster than anything, I just want it to have a little more go, but if the gains are pointless, then i'll just start gathering parts for a turbo setup.

Now your talking some since, bolt ons are for simple speed fixes. Only you have to have it custom built and it will cost around $3500 for a well tuned set up.

Nah, I've got a friend who builds turbo integras. He'll would weld up all the piping, IC and exhaust for a fee. probably a few cases should do, lol. The only thing I would have someone else do is the tuning, and possibly vacuum (sp?) and oil lines. But i've got about 40,000 more miles to go yet before I can do all that. Damn warranty.

As far as gathering for the turbo setup I already have a GT35R turbo and Tial 35mm wastegate. I'll just have to be patient and wait for the good deals. No need to rush I've got time. BTW, Is there anyone from Indiana here? I'm 10 mins. south of Indy, just curious if anyone was close.
