Noticeable gains?

I'm getting ready to purchase the superchips tuner, gibson exhaust, airraid intake, and possibly some 4.10 gears. will this be a noticeable step up in acceleration, and power? Can anyone suggest a different tuner? Suggestions or opinions? BTW the truck is an 07 f150 short bed single cab 2wd auto.

oh and also if you go to Troyer performance they have some stuff that will give that V6 a kick in the pants!

And id recommend a Magna Flow exhaust

I can vouch for the Troyer tuned XCAL2. I also added the AF1 and re geared. It's like driving a totally different truck compared to when it was stock. I've stayed away from after market exhaust with fear of losing low end torque and sounding like a ricer at WOT. I've heard some 4.2's with aftermarket exhaust that had a nice sound while idling, but never heard one that sounds good when hitting the gas.... but that just me.

Mine sounds sorta like a diesel going fairly slow right now... true duals. Cut my mufflers off last night because I suspected there was a hole in one of them.. Sure was!

from the research ive done on this topic here are a few suggestions
exhaust-magnaflow
tuner-VMP or Troyer(general tunes[superchips, edge, etc] can only give you so much, a custom tune will unlock more)
intake-MAC or AF1

What size are your tires cause with 4.10's and stock tires your going to be reving alot higher on the freeway killing your mileage, however it will give you alot better acceleration around town.

Xcal 2 or 3 for sure. 3 custom tunes and the ability data log, check and clear codes on all ford vehicles.

V2- $399

V3- $405

If you dont want all that you can get an Xcal 1 that just stores 3 custom tunes that are switchable on the go.

V1- $250

Thanks for the replies, guys. I will check out the Xcal 2 or 3. How loud are these trucks with straight pipes? Anyone have sound clips of their exhaust? Where can I get some 4.10s for this truck? Out of another f150? or aftermarket? Sorry for all the questions, I just want a little more from my 4.2. I'm trying to do all these mods for under $1000.

Cut off just before the muffler. When the time comes it will have dual CB extremes and a custom H pipe. Yours will sound different because I think the NBS's have only 2 cats and mine has pre cats and cats.

well you wont beable to get all that for under a Grand. the programmer is gonna run you around 350 at best, maybe more. and 4.10'a will be around 300 then the install is an arm and a leg! and you still need a exhaust and intake

I had dual glass packs. And honestly at WOT or cruise it's not any louder. It's significantly louder at start-up, idle and low-mid acceleration.

Gears are going to run you upwards of 750$ including install.

I agree, I shouldn't have used my money on AF1 intake, Xcal2, Exhaust and Underdrive pulley...my moms sienna van beats me.
