Annoying Squeek When Running
Ok, when the engine is cold theres a horrible squeek under the hood and when the engine warms up a little it reduces down to just a squeek squeek squeek squeek. So far I've replaced the belt, two smooth idler pulleys, one ribbed idler pulley, belt tensioner, and the alternator. And it just seems to be getting worse. I guess the only other things it could be are the a/c compressor, power steering, or water pump?? Do any of those typically go before the others? Id really appreciate any help, this is getting reeeeeal embarassing!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

It sounds like the A/C compressor... water pumps, and power steering pumps usually don't make too much noise... yet be able to make a squeeling noise. The fan clutch won't ever make a squeeling noise.... unless the belt is slipping on that... but that would be if the belt is too big, which is not your case.
See if the noise changes when you turn on your A/C or defroster...

One other thing I forgot.... take your serpentine belt off and examine the pullies... you might have a build up of rubber on one of them... or some kind of dirt which can cause slippage or squeaks. I'd recommend spraying them with some brake cleaner, as that will remove all of the contaminants from the pullies (grease, dirt, etc)...
Another though I had could be the water pump because if the bearings go bad it will cause it to squeel... but some don't have bearings... so it's a 50/50 chance it might be that.

Well I think I found my problem... I added some of that thick STP oil treatment or oil additive and the problem seemed to go away. Now it's been coming and going again. So I guess what I need to do is get my Mobil 1 Full Synthetec in High Mileage version from now on and use the thick STP oil stuff at every oil change now. I guess my engine aint as tight as she used to be.:o
