'96 4x2 Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

I removed the bolts from the oil pan, removed the metal strips that hold the pan, and wouldn't you know it the pan will not come off. I just purchased this truck so I don't have a repair manual just yet. What's the best way to do this? Thanks.

I've never had one off a v6 but check to see if there are bots comming down thru the timming cover and pry gently between the block and the pan. the 4 corners prob have blobs of rtv holding it fast

Thanks for responding Diesel Brad. I guess I was not very clear before. What I meant was, the oil pan was loose already, but I was unable to remove it from under the engine and above the front axle. I asked a few repair stores and they confirmed that the engine needed to be jacked up (don't forget to remove the engine mount bolts) to give the pan enough clearance. I also did some research on previous post through the SEARCH feature on this site, and it was very helpful. The gasket has been replaced, hopefully no leaks.
Thanks,
Mel
