hey guys i have a quick question. My truck has been acting kind of weird recently. This weekend when i was driving on the highway i was cruising along and when i would give it a little gas it would start to jerk some. It almost felt like it would downshift for a split second then go back into overdrive. If i would step on the gas enough to make it downshift it would downshift ok. After it had been doing the jerking for a little bit the service engine soon light would flash for about 30 sec then go out. would that mean that it set a code in the computer and i could take it and have the code read to see what it is. Im wondering if the trans is slipping causing the jerk and starting to go.

 

My truck is a 2000 4x4. 5.4L motor and i believe it is the 4R70W trans

 

sorry, i have no experience with the engine or trannie. stop by autozone and get ur ECU checked just in case it is throwing a code.

 

The jerking sounds like an engine misfire. The only thing that can make the service engine soon light flash is an engine misfire.

I think your engine is misfiring. Get if fixed before it trashes your catalytic converter.

 

Sounds about right to me too.
