Question Worn out leaf springs?

I'm thinking my leaf springs are worn out. They look very flat and they seem really close to the over load leafs to me. My back end is sitting too low. I have a 6" Fabtech lift with dirt logic coil overs (I haven't cranked them up any) and 5" rear blocks (not stacked on factory blocks). Here's how my truck sits now:

Here are my leaf springs: Are they worn out?

If they are worn out, can I put an add-a-leaf under them and raise them back up? I'm only looking for 1" to 1.25" of lift in the rear

Those do look a little worn. An add-a-leaf would definately help. I would actually consider getting a set of skyjacker 4" leafs and just running the stock block. That should just about level you out...I am strongly considering getting a set as I hate running blocks... Right now I have a 4" block with a 1.5" add-a-leaf in the back. So the leafs with the stock 2" block will pick me up .5" or less which is perfect for me. The leafs from 4 wheel parts are only like $500 for the pair....A lot cheaper than getting as set of Deaver or something and I have heard great things about skyjacker leafs.

I was going to post a thread asking if anyone has tried them on this site or anything.

Also loose the shock boots...They will fill up with grime, water and dirt and do way more damage than good. Trust me loose them...Your shocks will rot with them on there....

Did you have some bad experience with that?

before lift picture of the truck?

have you measured your rear block to verify it's 5"?

i find it hard to believe your leafs are worn out unless your truck lived a hard life before you had it. w/ the newer trucks it seems they try and give it some cali on them for some reason. i had to add 1.5" of rear lift on my 07 to get it more leveled out with my 6" BDS.

I need just barely over 1" in the back to level mine out. I just measured my blocks, and they're exactly 5" tall

i really doubt they are worn out. remember the 5" block only gave you about 3 3/8" lift over stock while you lifted the front 6" and had ~ 2" rake so that would account for being a bit low in the back.

i posted in your other thread as well, research lift shackles. IIRC most were reporting less lift than stated by the manufacturer. all if possible you don't want lift blocks at all so if you are going to spend $100 on shackles or rear blocks i'd spend it on the 4" AAL and go back with your stock block. leaf springs are no fun to pull apart (atleast i don't enjoy it) so i understand going with shackles or a larger block.

How tall are the stock blocks on my truck? It's a 2006 SLT 4x4

replying in this thread so were not jumping back and forth. not sure what the skyjacker cost, but IIRC i paid around $110-120 for my AAL's and did them myself. pretty basic tools you need but it is the most dangerous due to all the tension built up in the leaf springs. took me ~2 hours to do with a friend. 2nd side went quickly, think around 30 minutes. also need 2 TALL floor jacks and atleast 4. northern tools sells 12 ton jacks for ~70 bucks that i use for everything now that will get to your frame with no issue.

blocks IIRC are 1 5/8, i might be wrong so do a quick search to verify. i honestly haven't brushed up on the 04-08's that much since i sold my 07 a couple years back.

edit: just saw your have a 3rd thread, stop making so many hard to answer all your questions. if you have the coilovers you don't need a leveling kit. you can crank them for your additional lift. and if you are going to 8" you need to plan ahead before spending money and having to spend it again.

edit #2: you can do AAL and shackles, people do it all the time in more off road applications. as long as your not fabbing the shackles you are good to go.

I didn't organize my thoughts before I posted I measured my stock blocks and I got exactly 2". I've installed AALs before, I put the Fabtech lift on this truck. I'm torn between an AAL and the skyjacker 4" leaf pack with stock blocks

if your 2" i'd do the 4" AAL for now and your stock block. check u-bolts to see if you need new ones or not. hopefully you can keep those and not need new ones. then when you bump to 8" just go with a 2" lift shackle and you probably will end up .5" lower in the back.

edit: undid edit

If you had an 04 or 05, your truck would be more level in the rear. 04's and 05's have 4 leafs in the back,(06-08 have 3 leafs) which raises the truck the extra 1/2" from the thickness of the leaf, but also another 1/2"-1" from the resistance it offers.
FatBobsGarage has a pre-assembled leaf pack for 04-08 trucks, plus you could buy an AAL to go with it to raise the rear even more.

Do you by any chance have the stock blocks for the rear of your truck?
If so I'd be interested in taking them off your hands.

Also what size are you tires in the stock picture of your truck?

Dude trust me the 4" Skyjacker leafs and stock blocks are the way to go...You just lifted the truck. DO IT RIGHT. For $500 you can get a set of skyjacker 4" leafs. putting a add-a-leaf is only a bandaid for your situation. You are very close to the bumpstops on that truck currently. You should be leveled out perfectly and have a whole new rear suspension as well.

Like I said I was just planning on running a thread seeing if anyone else has them. I talked to a guy here at the local shop and he has them with the procomp stage 2 just like mine and he loves them....His truck sits perfect with his stock blocks installed....

This post does not even make any sense...The math is confusing to say the least, I am sure you mean well but it does not make any sense....
