Alcan was reportedly 200 a spring. for the LC they are smaller so i can see them being more expensive, but not $775 a piece.

the only risk going custom is if your spring measurements are wrong you will be out money having to ship them back to get corrected, or possibly stuck with a worthless set of springs depending who you deal with.
Seriously are you still mad. I actually am not but I am enjoying this quite a bit for some reason as I like to argue. Just one question. How many IFS f150's have four leafs as you referenced "for all 4" above? Are you referencing another post I should know about? Just saying. I am sure you will edit that now.

There is a power button on the side but I am having fun now. I love this thing but the keys are difficult to get used to. Very convenient.

No response. Maybe he finally gave up or he is looking for his crayons to write down some ideas to put me down with.

This is the post that started it all. I did not think I was insulting 06yz but I guess he did. I even said "I am sure you mean well". Damn. Who would have thought.

Since this thing has already been blown way out of proportion, I dedicate this song to 06yz250f.
Lets all listen to this and call it a day!
Thank you and Goodnight!

Wow So to get this thread back to a truck related topic: I've never looked into custom leaf springs because I just assumed they would be way too expensive. I'm not picky about having to have my truck ride like a cadillac on the road. Would custom leafs be that much better than the skyjacker 4" lift ones? I do tow, but I don't pull really heavy stuff very often. This time of year I pull my tractor some getting ready for deer season (7,000lbs to 10,000lbs depending on what's on it). I recently pulled it weighing closer to 10,000lbs and my truck did ok with it. The back end squatted way down of course, but I made it work. Roughly how much do custom leafs cost, who makes them, and what's the big advantage to them over skyjacker's?

Possibly this means 2 springs per pack and I need 2 packs, so 4 springs total not counting the overload leaf? I could be wrong

Alcan would be probably your cheapest bet for a set of custom leafs. Deaver's and nationals will run you a little bit more. Last time I talked to alcan I was quoted something like 530 for a set opposed to deaver's 700.

That's there order form, you can literally get them set up any way you'd like.

The only research I did on these was call skyjacker. The statement from him was that they have the same spring rate as the stock just with a higher arch to achieve the 4". So putting these with my stock blocks will give me 6" or so which should ride perfect and level. The bigger question is who makes the leafs for Skyjacker, alcan, atlas etc...

Get what you want, everyone on here is going to have their own opinion. I look at cost and name, skyjacker is a very, very reputable company and have been supplying leaf and suspension components for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a set of Deaver springs but do I need them, they are designed to provide a trememdous amount of flex. On the otherhand the front of these trucks do not provde much droop travel so is the flex in the rear necessary in the tune of $1500 for Deaver leafs. The only reason I see in buying them is to be able to say "I have Deaver Leafs" in most applications...I am going to replace my leafs this spring and I am pretty confident that I am going with Skyjackers....Good luck....

Those prices are for a pair right? not $530 per side?
