Worn out leaf springs?
#61
The only research I did on these was call skyjacker. The statement from him was that they have the same spring rate as the stock just with a higher arch to achieve the 4". So putting these with my stock blocks will give me 6" or so which should ride perfect and level. The bigger question is who makes the leafs for Skyjacker, alcan, atlas etc...
Get what you want, everyone on here is going to have their own opinion. I look at cost and name, skyjacker is a very, very reputable company and have been supplying leaf and suspension components for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a set of Deaver springs but do I need them, they are designed to provide a trememdous amount of flex. On the otherhand the front of these trucks do not provde much droop travel so is the flex in the rear necessary in the tune of $1500 for Deaver leafs. The only reason I see in buying them is to be able to say "I have Deaver Leafs" in most applications...I am going to replace my leafs this spring and I am pretty confident that I am going with Skyjackers....Good luck....

Exactly, so why get a set that flexes more???? Just my two cents...With IFS leafs that flex more than stock are overkill in my opinion only....

Nope a pair for both deaver and alcan. Alcan, deaver, and national all make there own springs in shop to either your spec or previous spec's they have for long travel, crawling, towing, etc applications.
Also generally with custom leaf packs you no longer need an overload spring.

That's why I'd give alcan a call they can make them to just about any spec whether you want them for towing or flex. But you either have to call them or email them to get a decent quote.
As for deaver I was quoted 750 shipped for just the springs or 850 for all new hardware and bushings, but that's for my body style they might cost more for your's.

Deaver is closed today, but their website says $745 for 4" springs for 2004-2005 f150, mine is a 2006. It doesn't say if that is for a set or just one side. I sent Alcan a price quote request email for a 4" lift set. Top Gun Customs has Atlas 4" springs for $545, and they say that is for a set. Skyjacker 4" leafs are $525. Then a pair of AALs only cost $100-ish. So hard to decide I have a problem of always wanting the best
