Bilstein 5100 Installed and Michelin LTX A/T2

Just wanted to post up some new pics with the Bilsteins installed and the new tires. Bilsteins are set at 2" of lift and the tires are Michelin LTX A/T2s in 285/65/18 and are on a 2006 4x2.

First some before shots:

Now after:

After shots aren't the greatest as they were taken with my iPhone since my wife has the camera.

Thanks. The setting is 2" according to the paper in the box with the shocks. I didn't measure before though so I am not sure of the actual increase in height.

The shocks themselves were around 450 from ShockWarehouse. Installation was 300 for all four installed and an alignment. When I was shopping around for installation a lot of the places I went wouldn't do them if I didn't buy the shocks trhough them but a lot of them only had Monroe shocks.

much more costly then a level but probably easier on your front end. Well it looks great. Just comparing as I'm about to do a level and had heard the bilsteins give a better ride.

The ride is much better on my truck. I would say more firm but smoother at the same time. I was skipping over expansions joints and potholes and bouncing sideways sometimes so my shocks were shot and needed to be replaced anyway and I figured might as well go with the Bilsteins rather than a spacer and some other brand of shocks based on the good things I had heard about the Bilsteins. I couldn't be happier with them. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks. I like them a lot. They are so much better than the crappy BFG Long Trails I had before. No more spinning out from a stop when it rains and decent traction in the mild off-roading I do when I go shooting or hunting. They handled the ice and snow fairly well when I was in Dallas the week before the Super Bowl as well. My only real complaint with them is the amount of rocks they pick up and throw.

Hey, truck looks good. Have you actually measured the front and back wheel wells to see how close they are to being even height? Also, I believe the Bilstein rear shocks allow a one inch lift if desired. Did you play with the rear height at all?
