Why lift a 2 wheel drive?
yeah for looks. Because it's significantly more expensive.
you may be too concerned about what others do. .02

Mercedes...Im gonna kick your @ss if I ever make it out to your coast....gonna put me up for a weekend?
Anyway- lifting or lowering them is almost imperative. Lets be honest- does anybody else think that Ford puts some pretty boring wheels on their trucks? They even have a stock stance thats pretty unimpressive.
I hate seeing STOCK Dodges that have a more aggressive stance than what Ford puts out there

Yeah you have to take the whole thing off, it comes with a new boot or you can use a small upper boot they supply and still use the stock boot with a little trimming. The Hurst one looked flimsy and required drilling new holes on the floor. I just moded the stock boot.

Like I said, just for what i use my truck for, the 2wd is kinda pointless. I guess I could get by, with a locker, but man does 4wd make is a world easier to get my Zuk to some "difficult" locations.

Yeah but where is the fun in that???
, It sounds to me that either you dont know how to have fun or you dont know how to offroad.
I like a challenge and the satisfaction that comes with it.

And I hear ya. Any mods are better then stock !
Figures. Don't worry, i get home, and the detailing begins !
Oh no you didn't !! *snap snap snappy snap*Little guy, I have been wheeling since you were playin in diapers. I do REAL wheeling, not playing in some mud off some trail. I compete professionally in rock crawl comps. I have been wheeling since I was only 12 years old. Learned how to drive a stick at 13 on the Rubicon. That crap you see in top truck challenge (besides being a joke) is damn near my back yard. I have done the tank trap, the obstacle course, and all the other things they show. If you had even the slightest clue on wheeling, or where I go, you would be in awe. My truck tows my trailer and samurai, plus all the gear, plus all the spare parts and tool, up climbs and through stuff I would bet would make you second guess, even while your NOT towing. My truck goes places yours can't. period. Come hang with us sometime. We have plenty of clubs up here, and would love to see you out wheel me some day. Always welcome new wheelers and peple who help our community grow and expand. If you do, I have a $1000 says your not gunna "out wheel me". We can do either a timed course, or a points course. i know how to officiate both, and have friends who do also. hows that ? Put up or shut up.

Les was right, don't question my wheeling. its my life. Its what I wake up thinking about, and go to sleeping dreaming over. It literally is everything to me.

Oh, and to answer your question "where is the fun" ?
I don't want "fun" while I am towing my junk, on ledges and over nasty obstacles. I don't want to spin my tires and tear them up (done that way too much in the past). I like being able to get to and from the trail with ease. Once I am out there playing, I usually keep her in 2wd to get the tail swinging around. But my TOW RIG doesn't do any hard wheeling, just like every F150 here. No one with a NEW IFS truck does "hard wheeling". Want a challenge ? Come do the waterfall in your uber capable 2wd. Or come to MOAB and crawl the Escalator. Fordyce ? Johnson Valley ? Man.... quite the rant. DOn't take it personally, I am just pissin away some time here at work.
Man.... all this talk makes me wana go hit the trails.

Set something up vagina.. I'm down
What's up with the 22nd or Thanksgiving weekend? I think me and Josiah are going to tear some chee-it up this weekend, after we work on his ice box.
Some rain would be nice.

i gota step in and defend the 2wd's. my truck is my dd so i dont try to destroy it but i definatley take her out when i can and get her nice and dirty. however if i could afford the difference in insurance id take a 4wd just to have the peace of mind that id have a better chance of getting out of something
dank- where you guys going? ive been itching to get out and test the new suspension and tires

Trust me bud, I have forgotten more on this subject then you will EVER, EVER learn. Ever heard of KOH ? King of the Hammers. Last year I was a spectator, this year I will be an official, and next i hope to be competeing. How about you ? Ever compete in W.E rock ? UROC ? What ? Where ?
