What do you think about their kit with the AAL? I want to do the add a leaf but not sure how theirs stacks up to other companies like pro comp.

Jeremy?

TXST8tj,
I have a 2012 4x4 and am getting ready to install a 2" AS kit. Just saw the updated install tip. That is exactly what the written instructions from AS state. Thanks for the help.

I added the ride-rite firestone airbag kit to keep the rear end from sagging when I tow. Also, with just 10psi in the bags, the rear end lifted about an inch. The install was very easy. Having help from a buddy will make the install easier.

Hello everyone!

Brand new here so let me first say thank you for providing this great resource!

I just picked up a 2010 Ford F150 2WD, Platinum edition and am looking at adding a leveling kit.

The tire size I was hoping to put on are the BF Goodrich LT275/65R20 Rugged Terrain T/A, which if I calculate correctly equates to a tire height 34.07 and a wheel width of 10.83.

Everything that I've read suggests not adding over a 33 inch tire on a leveling kit, however I found an Autospring complete leveling kit (2.5 inch lift in the front and a 1.5 inch lift in the rear) that indicates with this complete kit you can add up to a 35 inch tire, without any additional modifications. I called Autospring directly and posed this same question to them and they confirmed that there are people running 35s on 2.5 complete leveling kit, and that the size I am looking at running would be no problem on a 2WD.

I didn't know if maybe I was getting just a sales pitch from them and thought I would pose that to you all here and see if you guys had any feedback. Would I be ok with the above set up? Anyone running anything similar to this? If you all don't think this would work, any suggestions you might have would be great, as I am new to this completely and don't fully understand this world! I would like to maintain a smooth highway ride while obtaining an aggressive look, with the largest tire I can get.

Thanks for any help you all can provide!

Great Write Up, still doing good years later

I have 2005 FX4 and my autospring 2" leveling kit will be arriving this week, and I'm considering putting it on myself. The only thing that concerns me is monkeying with the ball joint, but this gets me thinking about doing it myself.

Thank You!

Wow! Really nice job. I just purchased a similar FE lift in billet aluminum and am looking forward to installing it next weekend. I was looking for some pre-install guidance on this type of mod, and your post really fit the bill.

Thanks for a great job in describing the install...you should go pro!

Yea the driver side front was a bitch. We just finished that one and are taking a break before we start the passenger front. I'm in southern Indiana but the thread locker was what was holding it on there. Heat worked awesomely.

Passenger side will be a breeze now. Driver took me 4 hours, passenger took me 1. You've already learned all the quirks and tricks by the time you hit the other side

You ain't lieing. The whole job took about 8 hours for the front and rear. I ended up having to drop the whole lower control arm to get the spring/strut assy back in. It probably whould've gone better if I had a better jack.
