my biggest issue so far with my '02 4x4 s-crew was getting a driveline clunk fixed. took several trips to the dealership and over a half year but it seems to be finally fixed! a couple weeks ago they put a new '03 transfer case on my '02 truck and it hasn't clunked since! a couple of other issues have recently surfaced with my truck. i'm starting to get rear axle whine around 50 mph...and there is a whistling noise in the engine area that comes and goes when the engine is cold.

other than those issue mine has been fine and i do think out of all the four door full size trucks out there...this one fits me best...

I've had my '03 fx4 for about a month and a half now (approx 1500 mi). I don't drive it to work, only fishing and longer trips with the wife. No real complaints. At close to 1000 miles I noticed a slight vibration when I was at freeway speeds (>65 mph). Took it to the dealership who rebalanced the tires (not surprizing considering the complaints I've seen here about the GY Wrangler ATs) and a slight alignment adjustment. Rides fine now. Love this truck. No leaks, no tranny thunks, no rough idles. (I'm seriously knocking on wood here). I do have a very slight knock when parked while the transmission is in drive (like at a stop light). I posted about it in the tranny forum, but got no replies. I don't hear it when I accelerate, or when the truck is in park or neutral. It's so subtle that I'm not at all concerned about it. I just turn up the stereo .. Get the Screw. You won't be dissapointed.

I have had the brakes redone because the pads were faulty, covered by warranty so no problem with me.

I love my 02 SCrew and I am sure that you will love one too.

Still have the occasional driveline clunk, really depends on the weather/day of week/rotation of the earth/planet alignment/basically whenever it wants too.

Other than that the only other problems I have is the 3.55 gears suck and it cost so freakin much to replace the gear on a 4x4!

I want 4.10s and may get them sometime next year.

This is for X11SS350's post on the Seat Lumbar area creeking noise. My '01 SC also developed this problem recently when the weather got colder. I adjusted the lumbar on both seats to low for a day, then adjusted to max for a day, then adjusted to where I prefer it ... squeak went away. Give it a try.

Truck lost vaccum during acceleration (AC cut off during acceleration). Dealer replaced vacuum hose assembly under warranty.

Lumbar noise in both seats. Dealer replaced both under warranty (look under interior care forum as I believe there is a TSB on this).

Paint not repelling dirt.

Great truck.

Cool

Only real problem has been at 62000 miles the transfer case went out. It didn't break completly untill I was riding with the mechanic. One rotor and three sets of pads. I really have enjoyed this truck and hope to put alot more miles on it.
