I had a remote starter installed on Saturday by a store who shall remain nameless but there ads say they have the best buys on everything. Monday the engine started to miss and I took it to the dealer, they fixed the #8 coil but said the tach wire from the starter had melted on the EGR tube and shorted the #8 cylinder.
Needles to say the "store" is now fixing the problem and will pay me back for the $220 I spent at the dealership to fix this problem.

Driver's side mirror vibrates (on the 4th replacement mirror now, which also vibrates)
Both front seat lumbars squeeked. Replaced under warranty. No problems now.
Tear in leather seat back cover on driver's side where the metal hinge was rubbing it. Leather cover replaced under warranty. Problem solved.
That's about it. All small nit-picky stuff, and everything is resolved, except for the mirror. Seems there is no fixing this.
I love this truck. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Edit... Forgot. The leather covered stering wheel was wearing badly. Black was showing through the tan color of the steering wheel and also the driver's side headreast was kinda loose on it's mount. Both the steering wheel and the headrest were replaced cheerfully by my local dealer's service dept. free of charge under warranty and, as always, a Ford Taurus rental car was provided for my transport while my truck was in their care. It is probably a credit to my dealer, more than Ford, but I have been treated great whenever I have a problem with any of the Ford trucks I have owned.

Noise from rear end
Bought a F150 Lariat Super Crew April 2003 . Started hearing a whoo sound from the rear end. Milage was 500. whoo sound was more pronouced at speed 65 mph to 80 mph. I took the truck to the dealer, and took the service rep for a ride, He agreed there was a problem , He said it was the ring & pinion. Left the truck with the service dept for repair. The dealer called back two days latter, said the truck was ready. I asked what the problem was , The service rep told me that Ford acknowledge a problem with the 355 limited slip rear ends, but nothing was done to fix the problem as ford did not have a fix at this time. I have left the truck with the dealer refusing to take it home unless the truck is fixed, or they give me a new truck, or give me my money back. The good service ends when they get your money

The button itself is contoured outward - like a tiny ballpeen hammer on my knee. I think that this can be potentially dangerous - my right foot is at a constant height as I drive down the highway. Then my left knee inadvertantly presses the button, thus pulling the pedals higher. My foot stays in the same place, resulting in unintentional ACCELERATION.
No major problems with any other systems...
Okay, I am going to step toes here, but it is for your own good.
BACK YOUR SEAT AWAY FROM THE DASH.
If you are to sustain a front end collision, you will likely negate any effects the seat belt has on the portion of your body (leg/knee). It is very important for your health and all who do the same (rest knee in contact with dash.
simply put, there are 3 collisions that take place in a front end collision (all collisions).
1. there is the initial, obvious impact of the car vs another object
2. there is the impact of the passenger into either, the seat belt/airbag (hopefully), or the part of the vehicle that is in the way of your free flying body, your knee/leg in this case. you need to sit far enough away from the dash to disallow your extremities from impacting the dash/ window of the vehicle.
3 and hopefully this will not apply; your internal organs hitting your abdominal cavity(intestines), your retroperitoneal cavity(kidneys), or your thoracic cavity (lungs, heart).
move your seat back, give the belt and bags a chance to work, this is no joke.
Back on topic, my brake rotors warped after 12000mi. a ford is a ford. who is perfect? no other prob's knock on wood...

I hear you on the rear end whine. I have it also on mine. I took it into the dealer not too long ago and they said its the ring and pinion. They supposedly replaced it, and low and behold, my truck still whines (at 50 mph). I have not taken it back yet but plan to bust there chops about it on my next visit to the dealer. I agree, this is ridiculous and they should be able to fix the problem.
Perhaps I will try your method and not pick up the truck until its fixed!

Seat Noise..
Well, I just developed the seat creek/pop on the driver's side seat this past week. It isn't anything major, just a little annoying and seems like an issue that some grease would fix.. I max go try to tear into it and save a trip to the stealership.. Truck has 28k miles now and this is the first and only problem as of yet..
Been a great truck!
