Tell me your problems
Only problem in one year and 30,000 miles on an 02 Lariat FX4 is the driver's side seat heater quit.
Dang, its getting winter, I'd better get that fixed before the warranty runs out!

Oil pressure sending unit failed. (Warranty repaired)
Both front seats squeaking. (Warranty repaired)
Head rests (all 4) were not properly assembled (loose cloth)
(I fixed these)
Column gear select lever now rattling like crazy
(Going back to the dealer for this one too)
Airbag light now blinking
(Going back to the dealer for this one too)
Coming up on 30,000 miles.
Really do enjoy the truck. Just seems that Ford would be more attentive to details on trucks that cost as much as these do.
Good luck !!

`01 SCrew No Problems
I bought my 01 Screw off hte lot on 03/15/00. Since then, I've never brought it back to the dealer. The only issue I've had with the truck is the weather stripping on the rear driver door. It's folded over and doesn't seal very well. Whistles at 60+ mph...
Thats It...
Still haven't fixed it, either...

Well I love my truck but it did come with some minor suspension flaws. The left rear of the truck is higher than the right rear by about 3/4 of an inch and I can't figure out why. Also, I recently discovered (after installing fatter tires) that the rear axle is off center by about 3/8 of an inch. This causes my left rear tire to stick out about 3/4 farther than my right rear tire does. These two probelms both showing up on the left rear make for an obvious flaw that needs to be fixed.
If your ordering a new truck you may think about ordering with lower gears if you intend to get taller tires. I'm going with 4.10's for towing.
Cheers,
-kc

2 brake jobs, 4 sets of pads total and still have squeaky brakes , moonroof visor stop came out/loose, driver side seat foam is shot, RF hub was leaking so dealer replaced under warranty. Other than that I love the truck. I'm at 46K now and will keep for rest of extended warrantee period and then we'll see what happens.
2001 4x4 52,000 miles. run a insurance company so am on the road alot, yhowever.
tailgate sometimes locks it self, hassel to go and get key to unlock.
fuel sensor sometimes flashes low fuel warning even after fillups.
steering wheel leather sucks, POOR quality of leather.
driver side leather seat seems to sag to left. (6'3 250lbs)
driver side seat has small hole in leather, (remember wear suit most of the time) seems to just have worn thin.
2 complete brake jobs, this time had to replace rotors.
transmission started slipping and took to dealer replaced some kind of spring and mechanic let slip that they have been getting bulletins on this.
still like the truck over all just not the headaches

1st screw 01 4x4 xlt. Good truck ran to 40k & traded for an 03.
the 01 I replaced brake's & rotor's & had problem's with IAC valve. Alignment problem,seat spring problem,rattle in gear shift did'nt start until about 2 week's before trading it in,so I just left it.
Nothing major & loved it so much I bought an 03 with the 3.73 gear's. Other wise same exact truck just Dark Shadow Gray instead of black.

Love the truck! Had to have driver's side of bed repainted under warranty after paint started peeling. Both Lumbar's squeak, Major driveline thunk, Pinging, & had to have some ignition parts replaced under warranty that were causing rough idle. But, it's one BA Truck!
I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x2 w/5.4. I had to have the transmission replaced at 13K. I now have 52K on it and yesterday it started misfiring. Well now it looks as though the #7 coil and plug need replacing $$$.
I really love the truck, it meets all my needs with the bed and the crew cab. I hate SUV's.

Actually, my biggest complaint is the placement of the pedal adjustment switch being in the exact spot where my left knee rests on the dash. The button itself is contoured outward - like a tiny ballpeen hammer on my knee. I think that this can be potentially dangerous - my right foot is at a constant height as I drive down the highway. Then my left knee inadvertantly presses the button, thus pulling the pedals higher. My foot stays in the same place, resulting in unintentional ACCELERATION.
No major problems with any other systems.
I did have to have it towed once. There was a problem with the dipstick. No, not the dipstick used for checking oil levels. It was the dipstick at Circuit City who improperly installed the remote starter. It seems as if the remote starter needs to be wired into the ignition system so that it can verify whether the engine is running. Well the dipstick somehow screwed that up and the first time on the highway after the install, one of the cylinders stopped firing. I barely made it back home. Circuit City paid the bill at the Ford dealer (about the same amount as I paid for the starter itself), but I lost my truck for two days.

My major compaint as far as the driver seat goes is it needs a foot rest for the left foot. I am 6'4" and need to have the seat almost all the way back to be comfortable. My left foot moves around all the time so it would love to have a nice home/foot rest to sit on.
