How much psi can a stock block take? I'm at around 10 right now. What size pulley does our whipple have?

I'm running the stock Whipple pulley 3.38 with a Metco overdrive pulley on the crank. 12psi is all the stock rods can take.

I have a 2.8 but my stock psi gauge only reads to 10psi. So I'm guessing its more? I got a conservative tune in 98 degree shop, I'm at 395hp 460ish torque.

Numbers are low. With a 3.125 you should be at 10psi and 400-420 rwhp. 3.0 pulley that I run is suppose to be 11 psi but I see 9-10ish. 2.8 should be 12psi and around 450rwhp..

I'm thinking he has a Roush blower. 2.8 on would be 14psi or more.

On saleen blowers I believe 2.8 is 12psi. I think fatherford runs a 2.8.

Get a better tune from JDM

I'm getting a tune from JDM. Had a nice conversation with Jim Jr today. Also going to install the 90mm Ford Throttle body. Can't wait to get to the track again.

He recommend the tb? How do you have to modify for it to fit

Gotcha. Sorry. Had a brain fart. I was thinking of a Foose truck with a Roush blower. Duh the Saleen truck would have the Saleen blower.

The 2.8 is the smallest pulley for the Saleen. Next step is a Metco crank pulley. Regardless a 2.8 should be making lots of boost. The 3.0 is said to make 13-14psi. http://vmptuning.com/saleen-pulley-products/0705-300/
I agree with Irons1n. Call JDM and talk with them. Make notes of all your mods so you will be prepared for the conversation. They can help you out in a big way. Fatherford is pushing 450rwhp + on his Saleen. No reason you shouldn't be too. Also have you run the truck at the strip? Track numbers speak volumes over dyno results.

We talked about it. I had heard they installed one on an F150 and wanted details. Turns out they just sold one to a customer for an F150. The truck has not run yet. Still in build mode. But he said it should work without tuning. May need an idle adjustment and watch a/f's. Regardless, I'm getting a tune from them. I'm tired of the long starts and flat spot in Troyers tune as well as the cold natured throttle issues. He can't make it right so I'm done with him. The flat spot is not huge issue and as we discussed some time ago i didn't even realize the cold nature problem because I never drove the truck cold. But now I know about it so it bothers me. I've spoken to Mike as recent as 3 weeks ago. He still needs the truck for "weeks" to work it out. Nope!!! Not happening. JDM to the rescue.

Not trying to run Mike in the ground. I've seen people call him a crook for years. I won't go that far but I will say I've seen and heard to much. Even reviewing some of my own experiences with him I can see where he got me where ever he could.

I'm curious as to what you will gain with a 90mm. If you go 90 you might as well upgrade intake inlet tube size and maf housing size to really flow. I don't recall if you upgraded that already or not.

Yes the inlet has to be larger. I measured 1-2 inches of vacuum in it when boost reached 11-12psi. I have what I need to make it 4" from when I fitted the AccuFab tb. I'll keep the 95mm maf housing. No need to change it. Even with a built motor she'll never breath more then it can flow.

I don't expect huge gains. Kenne Bell's test showed a 1/2psi of boost lost for every inch of vacuum in the inlet. So I might free up 15-20hp. Per Jim Jr inlet restriction will also increase air charge temps. So I may benefit there as well.

Yes. Bone stock. Never a seal cracked. Cool charge temps and the efficency of the Whipple are the reason. There's a lot left on the table I just can't touch because the rods won't take it. Imagine 5-6 more degrees of timing and an 11:8 A/F. Thats at least 50hp.
