I see that you use a reducer coming out of the air box, why not keep that bigger diameter and continue it to the TB with a new larger diameter tube and then neck it down at the TB end. Would get a bit more flow of that cool air to the TB and SC inlet.
When the truck is moving underhood temps do come down some. However for testing purposes I wanted to see a worst case senario. I wanted to make sure the box was going to keep the heat out during stop and go driving or at the drag strip.
The piping and reducer is all stock Whipple parts. Merely adapts the 95mm Maf housing to the duct and tb. The pipe is huge compared to the 80mm throttle body and presents no measurable restriction so I couldn't see spending the time or money to try find or make a replacement. Overall I'm pleased with it and it makes cleaning a whole lot easier. Here are some pics it after almost a year of use.

Do you have any interest in making another one and selling it...? Right now I I dont run the inclosed housing and just an open filter. I was going to buy an AirRaid setup and modify it but $300 is alot just to hope It modifys to work.

I could. I kept the mold I made. The materials alone are around $175. And it takes a full day to make. So I doubt I could beat the $300 deal but it would fit and seal up.

Lol. Sure thing. I'd be glad to do it. When it's time I will price the stuff out to be accurate and then we can figure up labor and shipping. Better get it done before you get married though cause once that happens that money is hers lol

A quick update to the thread. As many of you know I installed a 90MM throttle body and replaced the 3.5" Whipple inlet with a 4" I made. I've also insulated the CAI since then to improve even more upon it's already outstanding ability to resist heat soak.
