Adding an intercooler to Roush non-intercooled kit

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of adding an intercooler to a Roush non-intercooled kit. My truck is a 2006 F-150 FX4. What does it involves?

Thanks,
Pat

Looks like it. I did some research, though hard to find... from what I gathered, piecing up a kit will take you close to 2400$:

Lower manifold is changed, intercooler, new tune and so on...

Not worth the trouble.

Thanks anyway for the heads up.

It looks like Roush did sold the upgrade kit back in '06-'07. It retailed for 2899$. Yikes!

part number 401894.

They probably still can do the upgrade but I doubt anyone will be inclined to pay this price! I'm not!

If anything, I would look into getting the intercooler lower manifold. Then buy after market heat exchanger and get a dyno tune or some sort of other tune. This way you'll probably spend less money and have better cooling and more power.

That sounds right . Look on ebay for a used take off. some are incomplete kits. so you could get the best deal on those because all the parts arent with it. no good to someone who wants the whole kit, but good for you. with spare parts.

Ya I thought of that and I've been looking for just the intercooled lower manifold but no chance... yet I'll wait another month and if nothing comes up I'll get a complete i/c kit. Thanks for the heads up though.

IMO before you buy a new inter cooler kit, sell your current blower and get a twin scew setup.

Would something like this http://www.lightningforceperformance...ller_Core.html

Fit into the intake manifold? I also have a non IC roush kit, with +2lb pulley and injectors. I too would like to IC and turn up the boost again. Possibly a ported blower as well. I was also thinking about the AEM 5 gal alc/meth/water injection kit...

Is there a twin screw that will bolt in place of this roush blower?
Would it be more beneficial to spend the $$ on FRPP ported heads?
