1999 4R70W into a 2002 E250

I've been reading as much as I can about the interchangeability of these transmissions but I'd figure I'd post the tag number just to be sure. I have a 2002 E250 2wd with a 5.4 with a 4R70W Tag # PKF-CJ2 1C2p-7000-MA. I found a seller that has a 4R70W transmission that he says is out of a 1999 E250 2wd with a 5.4 and I have a picture of his Tag # PKF-BJ XC2P-7000-NA. Can I use his 99 in my 02?

Not a direct interchange but it *should* work. Direct interchange is 2001-2003.

Is there anyway I can use the tag numbers to get an answer more reassuring than *Should Work*? It looks to have the same three electrical connectors. Is the issue with a change in the VSS, would it be a good idea to take the VSS off the old transmission and put it on the new one?

Actually, I just noticed that the 99 has a speed sensor in the tail housing while the 02 has that hole capped off. Can I leave that sensor in and not have it hooked up to anything?

I don't see why not. My only concern is what type of odometer the 02 has vice the 99 - electronic vs. mechanical. I know the 99 F150 was electronic, but I don't know about the E250. Rock Auto does show the same part # for trans mounted speed sensor for 99/02.
