You have to.buy new bolts or studs. If you are going to high boost or swapping for bigger blower in future, go studs. 6lb lower again refers to increase in boost from stock L pulleys. So a plus 6 would be 12lbs with L upper, 10 lbs with HD upper. Oil pump mounts on front of engine, must be pick up tube, but not sure why you can't reuse old one, got me!

Yeah I knew I had to buy either new bolts or studs since they are tty from the factory but wasnt sure if I needed to go ARP or not..... But I guess I will.

Thanks I think I understand the "pulley-boost" Lingo now... Lol

As for the oil pump I cant use the factory pick up because the hole it goes in on the pump is bigger on the high volume pump opposed to the factory pump so the tube wont work.

I run the factory pump but I bought an expensive gear to put in the pump.
It's supposed to be much stronger then the stock gear in the pump.

I think I got the gear from DSS racing.

your math is a little off, stock L is 8lbs + 6lb lower = 14lbs total on a L and that would be 2 lbs less on a hd for a total of 12 stock 6lbs + 6lb lower = 12psi

Me bad, Blackberry is he.. on numerials !!!

ARP Head studs are ~$214 on Ebay and Summitt. All you gaskets will should come from Ford so find a good dealer that will give you a break. Between bolts and gaskets, its almost cheaper to buy a new motor! Well maybe a little overstated, but its no Windsor.

Well the Ford gaskets are very good, maybe expensive, but very good. In fact the exhaust gaskets are considered to be better than most aftermarket solutions. Did I say that they are expensive!

I called my local ford dealer and they're a bunch of friggen idiots so i'm not dealing with them....

Yeah the cheapest ARP head studs I found were from summit for the $214..... I ordered the cometic head gaskets and I got fel pro for the rest. Guess i'll order the studs today from summit along with a standard oil pump since the high volume is such a pain.

The cometic gaskets are good! That's what I use.

Ok good deal.... They're the most expensive ones I found so I figure they were good. My machine guy said to get them without a doubt.... "Do it right the first time" I guess!!

Are you building the motor yourself? If so don't forget the 10 dabs of RTV! The ones between the heads and block on the front cover are definitely required!
