Supercharging a 4x4

Is there any disadvantage to putting a supercharger on a 4x4, would the gains be the same and as benificial. I have been thinking about this for a while and i do know that if i had 2 wheel drive i would have already done this. However, it just seems a little wierd to me putting one on a 4x4.

Why wierd? there would be no difference, you would gain the same, and it would still haul A$$

Absolutely, without a doubt, blow it. You're gonna to love it. The only difference tween a 2wd & 4wds performance is going to be due to the extra weight and parasidic drag through the drive train, but I wouldn't worry about that. There's alot of us who are supercharging our 4wds. They're big, heavy trucks that need alot more power, and there's so much more just sitting there, waiting to be unleashed. My truck has over 108,000 miles, I Procharged it about 2 years ago and it still runs great 320/403 at the wheels.

the look on their faces when the truck starts to bog down a lil & i hit it & come out with mud flyin everywhere
plus its nice to know that i have a huge 4x4 that can beat most my buddies mustangs & tuners

And that is the million dollar question. And the answer is, it all depends on what you want it to do, and how it adapts to your driving style.

Other than factory SC trucks like Lightnings and Harleys, there are probably more 4X4 SC trucks than 4X2 trucks on this forum...

Yes do it!!! You'll love the power.
I did mine when it was 4X4 and went a little further and even took out all the 4X4 stuff. I was bitten by the power bug.
My truck is bad to the bone now,lol./Soon to be an 11 second Supercrew!
