It looks like I will be going with a 2-link with a track link coming from the front of the passenger side link bar to the axel on the driver side of the axel where the 2-link connects. The frame will be notched and the the bed will be tubbed and the floor will be raised above the axel. In the front, new upper and lower control arms will be made and the engine bay will be tubbed. They will plumb everything with 1/2" copper hard line and they will use new valves but use my ride tech controller. The transmission brace will be cut down to match the frame so it lays evenly. They told me that with the drop I'm getting I will be able to run a 26" rim but I'm keeping it stock of course because rims aren't my thing... I'm hoping to have it done before May but it all depends on getting a job...
Will you PM what they quoted you at please? Did they say why they are going with a 2link over a 4link? I know the owner did a 2link on his personal suburban that they made two door. Just seems like if a 4link could be done it would be better. 2links get bound up going in and out of steep incline/decline at an angle.

he said that they only do 4links on high horsepower vehicles and I would be just fine with a 2-link. I've been reading around and may talk to them further about doing a 4 link instead.
that 2 door tahoe is pretty sick! I saw it when I was there

Yeah I have been watching the build thread for that tahoe over on gmfullsize.com for a few months. Sick for sure.

I don't really understand their "horsepower" reasoning but they are the experts. I just think I would rather have the four link. 3/4 of the guys on gmfullsize.com are bagged. Almost all of them are 4linked and the ones that are 2linked hate it and always talk about how they are switching to 4link. Some of the guys that are 4linked now used to be 2linked and made the switch.

Maybe you could just imply that you would rather have the 4link and they will jump on board. I know it's your money and they will do whatever you want but sometimes in situations like that I like to make them think it is their idea to switch so they are 100% on board. kinda like getting a tattoo, you wanna get what you want but you don't wanna tick of the artist in the process, you want him to think he is doing what he wants to do.

Do you drive this "show truck"? Neil and I both plan to daily our trucks and I don't see a 2link being practical for that. I agree "less is more" when it comes to appearance but I don't find that to be true when it comes to suspension, motor, transmission, etc. When it comes to those things I prefer to NOT take the shortcut.

I would have to see it but why not just keep your ART 4 link? As long as it has enough travel in it, but it should.

X(however many people said it plus 1) dont bother with a 2 link

My buddy daily drives his s10 that is 2 linked with a panhard bar everyday in the summer for 6 years. I would have no issues 2 linking a truck on my next build whether im daily driving or a show truck.

The port is in Louisiana. I'll probably be working in the gulf but they have boats all over the world.
