2/4 is level, but you can only get a hanger as far down as 3"

You can get a 4" shackle, but its a tricky beast. And yes the angles are weird, but you can always get shims.

But anyways, notguilty411 not to digress, if you get a ground force 2/4 kit and you will be just fine.

Good point Dribone, I guess your right, it all comes down to how much time you want to spend. I say that because we are all capable of spending more money thatn we have. But it'd be so cool to say "yeah it's a custom four link, yeah, I installed it."

Cool

HI!... When I lowered my truck, it only cost me like $300(CAN). I bought BELLTECH 3 inch drop springs for the front and a belltech 2 inch drop rear shackles. Then I simple drilled out the rivets in the hanger and moved it up on the frame rail 4 inches and drilled new holes and used 1/2 stainless steel bolts with S/S poly nuts and washers. Then used shims to get my pinnion angle back to it's correct angle. Very simple to do. Most of the drop kits out there make you drill out the rivets and remove the stock hanger to mount their new hanger. Why not just reuse your stock hanger and relocate it? LOL! I can't believe people actually fall for it.

Neal, hows your tire wear? All the trucks I've seen lowered with springs up front have real nasty camber issues and wear out the inside edge

HI!... No problems here. My 295/45/18 NITTO 555's look brand new. I took mine to a good alignment shop after I lowered it. Been like 2 years now with "0" tire wear. Up to 3 inches your fine. After that you need to go to a drop spindle.

Speed demon, what drop do you have on your truck and what size wheel/tire combo do you have? thats what i want to do on my supercrew.

Dribone, your hillbilly deluex looks hella hot, ive seen it before but never posted on the same thread as you to compliment it.
Also what drop do you have and what components did you use. I like your drop but it wont be practical for me.

I got my wheels and tires ready just waiting for a little better weather to bolt them on and get my lowering kit installed. Ill get some pics afterwards.

Fabian - thanks man, your trucks comin together and as soon as you get a drop on it, you'll be all set.

my front is a DJM 3.5" lower control arm. the rear is a custom flip with 1" lift shackles. If I were you, and you had a little extra money, (it's well worth it) go with the DJM 2" drop control arms and a 1" drop coil. you'll be happier with the ride, a little stiffer, and just as much drop. with the stock coils, at the 3.5" drop, it gets a little mushy in the turns. anything to stiffen up the front end helps, but anything more than a 2" drop coil is way too stiff.

the belltech drop leafs are another option for the rear, but it decreases your load capacity.

Thanks, im focusing alot more on the interior and creature comforts before the outside, but im just about done with the inside. I just have to find the time to fabricate my sub box and add leather and seat heaters and ill be done. I already did my stereo upgrade, with rearview cam, custom lariat steering wheel control buttons, and im just about done fabricating an xlt overhead console to house a 10.4 monitor. I dont like the rail systems.

LIke i said though, my wheels are just sitting there waiting for spring, so i need to jump on the lowering kit. i think i just want to level it for now as i do quite a bit of hauling and i need my tow/payload capacity

Im thinking of just flipping the axle on the stock leafs for now but im not sure how much ill get and i dont want it lower then the front. ill have to go out and measure.

Nice looking trucks guys, I'm dying to see my truck photochopped and lowered with like a 2/3 kit on it...I don't want to lower it too much because I still want to tow...but if patmanscrew or anyone could show me a few pics (maybe even one layin frame) I would greatly appreciate it...thanks guys!!

"tractor trailers have been using airbags for years now. they tow just fine, in excess of 65 tons at 100-120psi. why can we do it too?" (with the same airbag company at that)
