You put a circuit breaker on your main power wire instead of a fuse???

Not something I would want to do I guess.

Never heard of anyone doing that before?? I finally sold my SSD's! Now its time for some new subs. I think i'll either get RE SE's SX's or Diamond D6's. Maybe the new BM d2 but I think i might have to much power for them. Any suggestions?

I have looked at them and they look good, I think they are fine, I just went with mini anl on main because my distro block had them to....

BTW: I got the 200Hz LP FMod today, but with the damn time change, its almost dark when I get home... if I can't slip out of work a little early one evening its going to be Sun. before I can pull the seat back to install them and reset the gain level......

I'm running a couple of breakers on electrical items on my truck.

Found these and I cant really pass them up. How good of SQ do the D6's have though? I'll be running them at 1ohm with about 1100 per. What do you guys think?

I have heard the d6's are clean but Idk from experience.
Nothing wrong with a circuit breaker. If anything they are better than a fuse. Because if a fuse blows you have to replace it. If a circuit breaker blows all you have to do is pop the hood and push the little red button, and flip the bar and youre all good.

The only thing i dont like about CB's is the terminals, they require a ring terminal and i dont feel like they work as well...

I found one that hooks up like an inline waterproof fuse holder, setscrew FTW

Fuses are just more reliable than circuit breakers in my opinion. I would rather replace a fuse instead of a burnt down truck. Not saying a circuit breaker will do that, but as I said, I just trust a fuse more than a breaker.

Anywho,
after, talking about upgradebto 1/0 wire last night i changed sub box, the 1 i put in is about .25 cu feet over what jl audio recamends for a sealed enclosure, should i see what it sounds like before.,eiyher something like peaces of foam to dampen or jus port tha box..... and also one side of dist block melted, im guessing 8 ga wire to small 4 tha currant and got to hot changed it to a 4 ga soo far no melting, need your sugestion or opiniot thanks
Id just pop it in and see how it sounds to you. Just because JL recommends that size doesnt mean it will work best for you and your application. You might like it better, who knows. Im betting you wont be able to tell much of a difference though...
Its always good to experiment with boxes to see what you like best.
I think you said you were running 700 or so watts??? If so, 8 gauge is definatley to small, 4 gauge at a minimum is what I would be running, which it sounds like you did.

Jwool...The D6s are a pretty nice sounding woofer. Played with a few and I actually do like them, actually considered a pair of 10s to downgrade but decided against it.
I hear people saying they really like to be powered in that 700-1000wrms range to really come alive. Any that Ive heard where not being ran over thier RMS, so I couldnt comment on that, but even being ran at RMS or below (which is the type of setup Ive heard them on) they did pretty good.

I live in a cardboard box...whats a house?

The thing about those is that they arent in the same type of environment that one on a vehicle is in. Granted, automotive type breakers are designed to be able to take the abuse from an automotive environment, but I still just prefer a fuse
