Bartak1's Install thread thingy
I tried regrounding the hu both the chassis and black wire, running a dedicated 12volt and ground loop isolators the only thing I didn't do was replace the rcas or ground the rcas to the chassis, it just seemed like it kept getting worse and worse, that HU is now in my dads babys mamas car, I havnt heard it but I did talk to my tint guy that removed it from bros car ind reinstalled it in her car, he said they are just noisy hu's and the only thing he did was use better rca's which got rid of most of the whine but he said its still there

What about running a ground wire from the antenna to the chassis? Or rather, since the antenna is on the battery side just ground it to the negative terminal. I'd probably also try taking a ground wire and just start touching the rca cables outside and the radio chassis. I think if it is a bad ground a better ground has to fix it.
Say did you ever try using the MP3 player to isolate the amp from the radio?
Alright, I just messed around with stuff a bit more.
SOME of the noise is coming from the amp. With the amp on, and all RCAs unhooked from the amp, I am getting some noise. If I have the RCA's hooked up and the volume on 0, I get the same amount of noise. Now, when I turn the volume up one click, I get another bit of static.
As I said, with the ACTUAL ground (black wire) is unhooked, the CD player still works untill I unhook the antenna wire. So I AM getting ground loop, but through the antenna. If I was getting ground loop through the RCA's, I would have to pull them off the amp before the HU would shut off, wouldnt I?
With the antenna unplugged, I have to have the actual ground wire grounded for the HU to come on....but still have the noise.
Something I cant figure out either is when I have the CD player on, and just pull all the grounds off, the CD Player will shut off, along with the amp, but shortly after the amp will come back on. I know its getting turned on my the turn on wire somehow, but how is it getting power if the CD Player isnt grounded at all?
I tried a whole new ground, 10 gauge wire grounded to a factory ground down at the fuse block. Tried grounding the RCAs and antenna to both a chassish ground and the HU chassis.

Not sure if I mentioned regrounding the RCA cables but I did find a good thread over on a enemy site (lol)

my amps also have the buzzing sound but you cant hear it inless the volume is off or extremely low. The installer i talked to said that there is going to be some interference because of how fords are built. The only thing he said to do was seperate the cables so that doesnt cause anymore interference and use higher quality rca's
Thanks a lot fellers.
I think right now, instead of trying to track stuff down like Ive been doing, Im just going to pull everything but the mids and tweets out and start over again.
Bypass the factory harness completley and run new constant, turn on and grounds etc. Just do it all over.

Finally got the power wire today. Didnt get much accomplished though. Got a board cut out to mount the amps on, and ended up pulling the cab vents out and putting a piece of sheet metal over them while I had a bunch of panels off. Maybe tomorrow I can get some wire ran and the amps installed.
Progress is very s l o w

Welp, got some stuff accomplished today.
This is a pic of the wire, took it a few days ago. This stuff is so dang flexible, Im in awe. I would find myself sitting there at night watching tv playing with it lol

Where the cab vents used to reside. I hate them so I pulled them out and stuck sheetmetal over the back and siliconed it up good. That alone got rid of a bunch of road noise that comes through those darn things.

1/0 to the battery and the fuse holder screwed to the battery cover

Stupid grommet, It works so well though. Lil hard to see

And I started on mounting the amps. Here is the board (3/4" MDF) that they will mount to. Its held on to the back wall with four 1/4 inch bolts. This is just mocked up here, so its ugly, but I wanted to know for sure that it will work. I will try to snap a pic or two of how I mounted the bolts and what not. That board will be textured and painted to match the interior panels when its all done.

Some pics of the amps mounted to that board.

The ends with all the settings and RCA inputs will be pointed upward.
All the harware painted black, yadda yadda. Like I said, everthing is just being mocked up for now so its ugly and not exaclty what its going to be like in the end.
But anywho, thats what Ive gotten accomplished the last few days.
The next nice day Im taking off for the city to buy MDF for the sub box, texture stuff, paint, and other odds and ends. Its been a little rainy for the last week here and I dont have the ***** to go get MDF without a bed cover unless its 80 degrees and sunny lol

Styx, Ill try to mess around with something like that. How did you go about fixing your problem? I have a few ideas that might work.

How did you get that huge power wire through the firewall? Just last week I was installing my own amp and I managed to get a much smaller wire through were the wire bundle goes through, but had to go around the grommet.
PS. If that has been covered somewhere else, just point me at a thread. Thanks...

I actually just got done installing that exact kicker 1/0 kit in my buddies truck sunday, and the kit is really complete, and really nice
What fuse are you going to use? His came with a 300a fuse. I didnt know they even made them that big lol
Also if you are having ground loop problems, have you tried wiring diodes in your power and ground wires? might just cure your problem
\
And why dont you like the Edead insulation?

that's exactly what I'm using
