I just ordered 4 Pioneer TS-A6870R's and I was wondering if they will plug into the stock wiring or do I need to order some sort of adapter or something?

You will have to splice into the factory wires, or buy a harness. Hella cheaper to splice into the factory wires.

Just and FYI, I have the TS-A5713, about the same thing as yours I believe, and they suck azz IMO. Take them back while you can

 

Really? I've heard nothing but good things about these speakers.
If they are any decent improvement over stock, I'll probably just stick with em, I got a pretty good deal on them (all 4 for $95). I got them off eBay so Im not sure I could return them even if I wanted, without an RMA

I did some looking around:
Your speakers are 2-ways, the ones I got are 3-ways.
The power ratings are different too...
Yours: 120W Peak, 40W RMS, 35Hz-24kHz range, 92dB sensitivity, 4ohm.
Mine: 220W Peak, 50W RMS, 30Hz-28kHz range, 91dB sensitivity, 4ohm.

 

Ohh, I guess there is more difference than I though.

Although they were a very good inprovement over stock, they werent that good to me still. Good if your not a total audio and SQ freak, but if you are they dont cut it

WHere are you getting them from? If you bought them off crtuchfield or sounddomain, they should be sending you harness adapters for the speakers. If not you will just have to splice onto the original wires. Or, better yet, run new speaker wires. But with stock power to the speakers, you shoudl be fine with a splice.

 

ANY speakers that you put in that are not OEM will require:
A) an adapter (usually $10-$15 per pair)

or

B) splicing into the factory harness, or just cut it off and wire from there.

 

I always advise using an adapter and NOT cutting off the factory connectors. That way if you get rid of the vehicle you can more easily put the stock speakers back in.

 

I bought the speakers off eBay. They dont come with adapters, so I guess I will just have to splice into the stock wiring. I will just cut the old adapters off and leave enough so that I can splice back into the stock plugs later if I want to.

go by your local best buy. they sell the adapters you need to avoid cutting your factory harness.

 

Well, the speakers got here a day early, and I just had to get them installed. I only had time to get the fronts installed, but it already sounds much better than my stock speakers. Once I get the rears installed Ill play around with the settings on my HU and I think Ill be a happy camper for quite a while
