Exclamation Upgrade to vBulletin 3.5 (please read)

Hello,

As many of you have already noticed, we have upgraded our forum software to the latest and greatest version, vB 3.5.3.

As part of this upgrade, we are going to experiment a little with some of the new (and old) features in the sofware. These experiments include:

1) enabling "reputation" which gives users the ability to rate their fellow users

2) enabling "private messaging" for users that have been on the site for at least 90 days and posted at least 100 messages

I want to reiterate, this is just an experiment. If we decide to implement any of the features permanently, we will post the rules (if any) for their use. They may be turned off, modified or discontinued without notice!

If you have any questions, please let me know. There are still a few design tweaks that have yet to be completed. I hope to get to those shortly.

Steve

Cool beans! I like the new design in the reply/new thread section. Can you explain the green thing under our post count? Now it says I have influenced nobody. Is that part of the reputation thing? I think is did say we were on a designated road. Also, when I click on the scales next to the thread post count, it returns me back to the top of the page. Maybe thats one of the tweaks your working on. Very nice though!

So that explains why I don't have to put that annoying little check mark for my sig after EVERY post.

I'll keep checking in for an explanation on that "User Influence" feature....

Since we're on the subject, one upgrade I'd like to see would be the availability of more site "smilies" -- we seem to have a pretty meager selection compared to many of the other forums I hang-out on.

Try clearing your cache. I had to do that to get the quick reply icon back...

There are a few of the feared red x's around here now, namely in the newreply.php page (look in the top right corner), increase and decrease text size and spell check. I too like the quick edit function.

So is the PM Messaging working? Also, it says I have reputations points. Is there any way to find out on which posts and by whom they were given by? And last, where did all the GD posts go?

Oh, I only have 51 posts. No PM for me.

Think I got the image thing fixed. If not, can you let me know what the image is supposed to be? Firefox doesn't do the red "x" thing...

Everything seems to be working fine from my firefox. Still trying to figure out the "finding his way bit" and where to check on your reputation.

Just wanted to let you know FF seems fine

Ok I lied....I cant add smilies by double clicking...

off to do some testing...

manual type:

Cleared cache, logged out and back in...ok now.
