raptor, i agree with taking off the ford logo and k&n like you said. other than that the rear looks good. those tails aren't my style but aren't terrible like the halo's and i disagree with jbmx about the rice look. looks good. i never have asked are you going for a street look? why is your insurance going up? wasn't it her fault? or did it gas as no fault

I didn't get them. My dad got them for me for Christmas. I'll agree on preferring the red ones, but I'm atleast glad he didnt get my those cheesy alteeza halo ones that the latino trucks have

Yeah, I guess I'll take the two off then. I'm not going 100% street, but I want a more sportier look. No ticket was issued, and there were no recorded witnesses, so not immediate blame. But on monday her insurance appraiser is going out to the scene of the accident to see the conditions and the angle of how she left the parking light and seeing if she had view of the streetlight from there or not (which she didn't, because I tried it already.) When they see it and determine it was her fault, they can go ahead and present me with a big fat $350 check to replace my grille.

Chris, I'll stop by the junkyard and check them out. Now that I think of it I saw a few chrome and white-capped ones. Wonder how much they charge...

Tell them about your suffering and you will get what you want. I'm telling you the truth, You hold the cards. You are letting them convince you otherwise.

Truck turned out really good Alex! Glad to see you are getting her back.

And I second the idea of getting some XLT mirrors, as they look really good. And you should try to find some white capped ones, since you will painting you grill suround white anyways...

Wow! Nice looking truck you've got there! I guess the accident outcome was good in your part!

I can't believe how good it looks... it brings back so many memories of my '99... how the heck did I get myself to get rid of that truck?! I loved it... and the more of these trucks I see, the more I want one again.

Raptor, good choice in keeping it running. Get a million miles out of it... and treasure it... do something I should've done! Keep it!!!

for those wondering why Raptors insurance went up...

Florida is a no fault state. So if you are in an accident at fault or not your insurance is going up. Sometimes more than others but always up. If you have been with the company along time you can do things to keep the rates down but normally it will just go on up.

Hey Alex good to see your truck coming back together.

it reminds me when I had my front end off to put in a tranny cooler and flex-a-lite electric fans and 2 row radiator.

Have you checked eBay for replacement grills?

We've already found the grille. We want the same exact one we bought a year ago. The problem is her insurance dosen't want to pay for it. So we threatened to take it to court. We're hearing from them Monday. I'm pretty sure they would rather pay about $500 (headlights and both upper and lower grille) versus $5,000 in lawyer fees

thanks trimble for explaining that to even me

All you have to do is complain about pain related to the accident.
They Will Pay.
Sound stuppid, just do it. The Number 1 injury in a low speed collision like that, is pain in the leg or hip from standing on the brake during the impact.

I had the same problem with my insurance too when I got rear ended by a corrections officer in my Escape... the transmission self-destructed 3 days after getting it repaired. Apparently it didn't like it's driveshaft being shoved into it.

You can get the XLT mirrors (the big good looking ones) in a non power version.

Random, but thanks! I'll be checking the junkyard ASAP when I get her back. Probably won't be monday, but we'll try tuesday.

Anyone happen to know how to take mirrors off?
