You gotta watch out for people like this, sometimes they try to get in accidents with teenagers and claim they are not at fault figuring everyone will assume its the kids fault. Had a lady try that with me and a friend, she signaled to make a left hand turn, she was almost stopped then as we move to the right to go past her I see her look back at us over her right shoulder and then make a quick right hand turn so that we hit her rear door.

Hope she pays up.

Get a V6 fusion those things go!! 0-60 faster than a mustang GT i 0-60 my budys when they had a rental fusion went 0-60 in 7.50 sec prob would be quicker if the front tires didnt spin for the frist 15-20FT.

Sorry bout ur truck glad ur alright good luck fixing it i hate body work. jugdeing how ur truck hit doesnt look like you got very far turnin right you shoulda truned left and tryed to go around.

My brother had a pretty bad day not to long ago. His wifes car the engine locked up it ran outta oil *oil change place didnt refill it* then after getting her went to the insurance agent drivign home got sideswiped by an 88 lincon town car. he was driving a saturn SL2 97. messed his car up! so within an hour n a half my brother totaled 2 cars.

Update: Good News!

We have the adjuster coming out to look at it. I took an hour's ride to where we purchased the truck exactly 11 years ago last month. They had an excellent staff and showed me some recent cars they fixed up compared to before photos. I wan't able to do the 99+ swap, I'll probably have to do that on my own accord, but pricing the front end, they say around $2,500. That includes the painted bumper (dealership will paint new bumper for me ) and the aftermarket headlights. I just had him select the Lightning's headlights when he was selecting the part numbers. I'm just waiting for the local PD to finish the accident investigation report so I can get my claim # and go pick up my new car for a month.

Which leads me to where Jeepin was wrong. Yes you must be 18 to rent a car, but my *dads* insurance will cover *him* on a 2006 4.0L V6 Mustang or 2007 2.4L V6 Charger for a few nickles under the $30/day limit. As soon as we get our numbers, we'll just call them up, pick it up, drop off the truck, and we'll do a simple switcharoo and she's mine for the next 30 days. Which is good because it won't take more than a week to fix my front end.

No, if you look up at the overhead picture, I had several lanes of traffic to my left, including a car right next to me travelling the same speed. Had I went left, it would've been a 4+ car pileup and the damages A LOT worse (such as the bed getting smashes, both sides, etc.)

And by simple switcharoo you mean illegally driving a rental vehicle? If your name is not on the paper work, you can't drive it. If you do, and something like what happened to your truck happens to the Stang, you'll be SOL.

Yes, exactly. I highly doubt I am the first to do this. Rant all you guys want, but the fact is I pay for rental, I need a rental, so I'm getting a rental. Just so happens that they have my favorite car and its under the cutoff limit. So things work out the way they do.

Hope nothing happens while you're out playing with it, because you know you'll be driving it like you stole it. If not, why bother with renting a mustang?

Seems it'd be alot smarter/safer for your Mom or Dad to drive the rental, and you drive their car, which probably has you listed as a insured driver.

Besides, if you wanted to be a cop or pilot or whatever, do you really want to be admitting to a crime on the internet?

Edited to add: You might want to consider dropping the rental coverage part of your insurance plan. Doesn't make sense to pay for something you can't legally use.

raptor, if your planning on a 99-03 front end, this is going to be your best oppurtunity seeing everything for the swap is already destroyed. i would just get the check that you will get to fix it and have it done. save you alot of money doing it now if there is any way to get it.

yeah. I'm not 100% positive on how this is done, but from what my dad told me (I filled him in on the 99+ swap) that her insurance will give me what Im quoted for. Lets say $2,000. I will use up to that amount to buy whatever I need and have my dealership install it. Lets say all done it takes $1,895.67. Is that how it works? What happens with the extra cash?

Me? Insured on their brand new $25K sports car? I've never laughed harder in my life.

Believe me, it would be WAYY cheaper to get into an accident with a Mustang compared to their car.

if they cut you a check then it's yours, if they pay the bill like most insurance companies then they will only pay the set amount and you'll have to pay the rest for the "upgrades".

I suggest the harley lights and grill with a lightning front bumper

yeah, I like your tastes there. HD grille and L bumper... sounds nice. But again, we're still negotiating here.

If you were traveling on the road and she was exiting a driveway then she is most likely going to be at fault. An exception would be if you were traveling at a speed so great that any reasonable person would not have been able to see your vehicle coming.

You said you were doing 50? is that at or below the posted limit?

yea, her insurance will be writing you a check for the repairs. so its your choice if you want a 99-03 front end on
