Did they know they were racing? And if you have a regular cab short bed, of course you will outrun anything bigger, Im sure there are V6s like yours that can outrun my FX4. But then again if I wanted fast I would have kept my GTO.

i got a 99 reg cab with a xcal 2 and a 100 shot and its still slow as ****. dont get me wrong i can still school some ricers at the track but it still slow. i run 9.2 in the 1/8th. if you want something faster the best thing to do is to buy a faster vehicle, unless you have a lot of money.

explain to me how you advertise 230 hp and 275 ftlbs in your signature?

pulleys, flo-pro, CAI, chip and tuner, thinking of e-fans too

desperatly need to update my sig once I finish my grille and give it a 2-day long wash and wax!

NCSU, those are purely cosmetical. im pretty sure the only thing they do is increase parasitic drag by 0.0024% or something like that

please

buy a v6 for now. i was happy to get a v8 when i was 17 but i know i was fortunate that it was on its last leg. it was a 76 f150 with a ton of miles. if it had been fresh i might have ended up killing myself and others. i bet you arent any different based on your original post.

some people on here will act like its no big deal and we all want to just go fast, but what they wont tell you is that they really do know that you can drive that way all the time. its also likely that 99 percent of the posters here have a lot more experience driving at high speeds..or for that matter...driving at all.

dont let the level of maturaty that you are experiencing here make you feel like you can drive like an idiot because some on this board obviously do. it only takes on bad move to wrap you around a tree, put you in someones house, in a guardrail, head on into a semi, or right into someones tailgate.

the only thing i remember about those days driving like that are the near misses and how they would have been devastating.

i personally dont know why you and your dad are debating. if it were me ID TELL YOU what you were getting.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!---SORRY FOR THE CAPS GUYS.

I hate to tell you but getting the V-8 isn't much better. It's slow as ***** too unless you do some stuff to it.
